Okay, I know that everyone has different pet ideas and some people aren't fans of pets just because they're shop items, but I wanted to make a suggestion of adding Chihuahua pets in game?
I know what a lot of people are thinking, "All the dog breeds in the world, and you suggest these weird little bark boxes?" and my answer to that is yes. It's also a pretty personal request, and likely not one to get too much traction on its own but I figured I'd suggest it anyway.
Last year a little chihuahua came into my life named Gus, and it was during a pretty dark period in my life. Out of work, feeling lonely, watching the world descend into chaos around me things had me down to say the least. Then on January 5th, my parents arrived home and a friendly little face peeked out of my dad's jacket. I did everything with that little dog, and he was the only pet I've ever had that was even interested in stuff I was doing to the point he would want to sit on my lap while I played video games. He really seemed interested in Sea of Thieves, always watching intently (especially if people were playing shanties!). I've had some awesome pets in my life over the last three decades, but none of them has ever hit me as hard as Gus did.
Tragically, earlier this summer, Gus had to be put to sleep. An undiagnosed condition, unseen by our primary vet, basically made Gus a ticking time bomb for rapid kidney failure. The energetic happy puppy that had brightened my life for a year and a half rapidly declined in only a matter of days and the emergency vet told us that the best option was for him to be put to sleep, because at best he only had another week to live and it would be painful for him. As much as it hurt to let him go so quickly, I couldn't let him suffer.
It's been a long, quiet summer in this house. I still play Sea of Thieves nearly every day, and sometimes I admit to having to fight back tears because something will happen that will remind me of all the times he'd sit here with me and play the game. I did my best to pay tribute to my sailing sidekick by getting a Shiba Inu in game with as close to his color fur as I could, but lately I can't help but feel like it'd be so cool to have a smaller dog, a Chihuahua, in game so his little tribute can be more fitting.
I know in the grand scheme of things this is probably a useless suggestion, there are so many better ideas from the community both in terms of balancing existing gameplay to new additions, but I wanted to take a shot anyway and suggest it.
