Anyone else getting mystery kegged?

  • Hi everyone,

So season 7 has gone bang. Literally for my crew.

Seems there's a new hack (or a bug) where kegs drop from the sky.
This happened to us, from some completely silent & invisible attackers, who first kegged our brigs main mast, then dropped kegs on us around the boat until we were all dead. We didn't see or hear a single opponent or mermaid, nor the kegs, and we hadn't seen another player boat for around 2 hours before this.
All veteran players, and we've never experienced anything like it. Pretty hard to report a hacker when you can't even see a name tag.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

  • This is not a new exploit.
Someone already did a video on how to launch kegs 2 years ago:
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=Fii9foQtISk

  • Friend had a bug where a sloop and it's crew turned invisible just before getting near the island they were at. He had to watch my screen on discord to aim.. First time any of us had encountered such a bug.

  • Lol
i had a bug where all of my crew was doing emotes and holding stuff
and my friend was stuck on crab scuttle emote holding a chest of legends he was holding it up it was so funny

  • @zedny3434 this isn't it. If you watch videos of it, ships are getting kegged in the middle of the sea with no enemy ship or land in sight to do this from. I doubt someone is just waiting in the middle of nowhere floating with 10-20 kegs for a ship to come near and perfectly launch keg after keg onto their deck.

  • @mordechaiser Please report this the proper way matey...

  • You're going around spending so much time nerfing my posts, nothing is actually getting done about the cheater. Can you maybe help us here?

  • @zedny3434 its not that. there were several in the middle of the ocean. There is no way they can use that trick and be that accurate with it that I can't see the person.

I reported it last night but the guy is in again tonight.

Send your video and the details like platform, region etc to the link he posted.

Name and shame isn't allowed, but sending info will help.

    This is weird tho.

  • @mordechaiser I am here to apply our forum rules, not to ban people in game unfortunately.

But we have rules to enforce here and procedures to follow.

If you have not already please do report them using the official methods here:

But as I said in reply to your first post (or one of your crews) I have already passed these videos on to our enforcement team. Sharing them here only goes in their favour by A) Giving them notoriety and B) Promoting the exploit making others research it and try to perform it themselves - making the situation worse.

Sharing it via the official Player Support Tool method means the issues get reported directly to the team and bypasses giving them and the exploit the notoriety they both crave.

What happened to us is definitely not this. We were in open water. Moving. Pretty hard to target the way you're describing.
I've read a few people on the net having the same experience I've (not) seen. I won't put a link here, it was pretty easy to find. What they describe sounds exactly the same as what happened to us. This is why I think it's not just a clever crew that got us....

  • Just had the same thing happen here in Australia. On PC. They were able to spawn on our ship with kegs. They did it 3 times. Saw them on the Ferry of the Damned I think. They were rolling through there regularly.

    Not a ship in sight.

    Needs to be fixed ASAP.

    It is game wrecking.

  • We had kind of a weird experience with a keg on Saturday.

A Reaper ship was following us, so a crew member grabbed their ladder with a keg and climbed aboard. The reaper's shot him, and the subsequent explosion took out both their masts, killed all three members of their crew, and put enough holes in their ship that they were sunk by the time they respawned.

It honestly felt like a regular keg acted like a stronghold keg.
