me and a friend have been running the new update and i found myself glitched under the map and constantly unable to die due to a respawning bug so i had to leave and come back... then i found out i cannot reinstate my position as captain of the ship and all captaincy achievements are froze! not very happy.
Why can you not reinstate yourself as captain after leaving the game?
There needs to be a way to vote in a new captain without leaving the play season. I suggested a scuttling option. The old captain ship would sink and the new ship would spawn. Unlike scuttling, the resources would transfer between the old ship and the new ship.
They could add a feature where you can’t transfer ships when another crew is close by. This would stop people from running with their supplies

Could be abused as an enemy-detector.

Historically accurate pirates could transfer captaincy from one pirate to another. Why can’t we do the same?

It's not a historically accurate pirate game :).
My guess is, every pirate is linked to the ship. To move them to another ship, we could end up with pirates without a ship if something goes amiss (or when people find a loophole somewhere).
The only reason why it’s not a historically accurate game is because slavery was a part of the pirate history. Rare doesn’t support that play style that someone has more power than another player

That’s not alliance servers, that’s everyone else.
Once a captain leaves a ship, the captain ship becomes a normal ship. In other words, nothing has changed for alliance servers. You can work on your milestones when the alliance servers are first formed but afterwards it’s pointless
