How do you store your loot?

  • Just curious about how the community goes about storing their loot.

When I'm solo, what I like to do is keep higher values closer to the rowboat in case I need to escape with it.
I tend to have one side of the "cabin" with loot from the emissary I'm running, stacks separated in order of value.
Other side of the cabin has loot from the other emissaries, just sorted by what emissary they're for.

When I'm running in my usual gallery crew, their philosophy is to keep almost everything near the bowsprit separated by emissary, as we usually load by harpoon and unload by having one crew member drop everything off of the bowsprit.
Very high value loot and quest items stay next to the helm so they're easier to keep an eye on.

What philosophy does everyone else apply to their hoards?

  • @scheneighnay depends on the ship I’m on
•Sloop- in the map room nearest to the quest table

•Brig-either on the bed or near to the quest table

    •Galleon- Captains quarters

  • I used to put everything below decks to hide the glow.

Then the different colours of lanterns came out and other glowy bits and I gave up.

Now I just drop it near the bow by faction because I do the off the bow drop depending on where and how much I'm turning in.

I do for some reason still hide the ashen keys I find in a certain spot on my sloop...aaaaand forget about them 😆

  • What my sloop looks like when I pull into the outpost

  • Bury it. Bury it all.

I do find that shipwreck manifests blend in really well on the map table.

As well I've saved an ashen key before by slipping overboard into a shrine and stashing it in a mermaid statue while a galley chased my near-empty sloop

  • @scheneighnay I just chuck everything on the bowsprit, in no particular order.

Easy unloading for the lazy pirate I am!

  • On every boat we put everything in one pile on the bow sprit. Makes it easier/quicker to unload and can attract attention from other greedy pirates which hopefully turns into a battle! (We love pvp)

  • @scheneighnay on the bed, so if someone wants to grab it, there is a chance he falls in sleep 😁

  • @scheneighnay
Bowsprit. Works great with merchant items. You can turn in merchant items from your bowsprit without even moving if you dock your ship right.

If I'm a reaper, I always plan on using a harpoon rowboat to turn in. Treasure sitting on your rowboat for an extended amount of time will disappear, even if the rowboat is docked to your ship the entire time. After having about 75 crates disappear from sitting on my rowboat for a couple hours, I keep everything on the ship behind the map table until we are on our way to the hideout. Only then do we load the rowboat with the treasure.

When I go galley we have somewhat of the same "come and take it" mindset.
That you don't have to hide it if nobody can sink you.
I assume people can still harpoon it off of us if they try, but I haven't seen it happen.

  • I always keep what ever is most valuable, or what ever im emissary for, at the base of the bowsprit just where other ships cant harpoon it, and everything else sorted in piles off to the sides either front or back of the harpoons, some things i may store inside of the ship or near the helm just cause i want to decorate a bit... having a skull on the compass with the eye perfectly around the circle so you can see where your going is great decoration!

Every once in a while tho, if i got something very high value and small, and team mates who arnt comfortable losing important stuff, ill down the mast and hide it inside of the broken area before fixing it up. You can hide a stack of skulls or gems inside of your mast just out of view of anyone boarding, they will still cause your ship to shine for miles, but when they board, unless they know the spot, they are going to be confused what was glowing if they dont manage to sink you.

  • @scheneighnay If your on a sloop, very short trinkets such as that key can be hidden inside of the lower set of stairs, some railings collisions are also smaller than their model, so you can hide keys inside of railings.

  • What Loot? It's all about the Glory, not the Gold 😉

  • No point storing. Once a ship sinks it’s in the water.

  • Skulls on the dashboard, everything else in piles around the harpoons where it got dropped. Or if I’m feeling organizey, filled chests in the captain’s quarters, everything else sorted by faction on deck. Storage crates against the bulkhead by the cannonball barrels (sloop).

  • I used to hide it below deck when I was new. Now it's quicker and more efficient to store it up front for quick unloading. Now that I can hold my own, you win some you lose some. If I lose all my loot, they earned it. It'll even out when I sink someone next time. That someone might have twice as much as I had. I keep separate piles for each faction, and then make the good/rare stuff separate within that to sell first.
