Fire breathing, practical use

  • As I was exploring Flameheart's lair for the new unofficial SOT shot competition I started thinking: We got grog, we got fire, why not add the ability to breathe fire.

It can be done as way to attack after a mouthful of grog while holding the lantern high or as pyrotechnic fun. This way an ancient tradition and cool trait associated to the Flameheart's presence can find its way in SOT.

  • @metal-ravage Or you can just defeat 1 of his Ashen Lords, and use their Ashen Winds skull as a flamethrower. 😉💀🔥

  • @galactic-geek That would decrease the value of the skull and take away all the fun. Fire breathing pirates should be a sight to behold.

  • I think its called "Ashen Winds Skull"

The skull itself isn't that strong already, and having something like alcohol fire breathing would either

    A. Make the skull pointless and ONLY a loot/commendation item

    B. Make the alcohol fire breathing pointless beyond an emote or something

  • @gallerine5582 Ashen Winds Skull is pointless?

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    That thing is devastating! 😈

  • That should be a emote
Probably they should add parkour and tarzan stuff

  • @gallerine5582 I haven't seen anyone use an ashen skull for combat for a while, that is understandable when that thing is worth more as loot.

Fire breathing in my mind will help when surrounded by shadow skellies (grog, lantern, fire) or as last resort to break a sword fight. Now that I'm thinking about it, fire breathing can be devastating against ghosts as well. All this time you don't have to carry anything for all you need is already in your possession(grog mug, lantern)

Against an individual pirate or group of 5 skeletons maybe, but even then it's still faster, cheaper, and more reliable to kill with default weapons. Like the trident, it's only useful in the occasional PvE situation where you can't just sword spam like anything else can be, and the trident is only good because of the AOE with it's damage, but with the ashen wind skull it still takes a considerable amount of charge to get anywhere...

Faster? The Ashen Winds Skull kills in 2-3 seconds! Besides, the panic it instills is a powerful advantage.

Eh, any decent pirate can kill you before you can kill them with it. You lack mobility while holding it, can't heal, have to be within somewhat close range, and it takes quite a long time for a ship to catch fire from it. You'd be better of using your regular weapons for killing and firebombs for burning. I can't remember the last time someone used it in a fight.

You forget about the panic it instills though, even in somewhat experienced pirates. Once they see that they have to act quickly, it's not usually, "kill the pirate" - it's, "oh 🤬, I better get out of the 🤬 way or I'm 🤬 dead!"

    See, panic.

  • Ashen winds skull is underrated. It's a powerful tool. Real chads tap the secondary button and add a voiceover to make it say stupid things.

  • Many traits of fire in this game are yet to be used: like discovering hidden clues made with invisible ink or melting elements to reveal secret passages etc.
