Why I never waste Money on this game

And more fundamentally, why pay for something in a pirate game..? Especially $20 for a ship set..

I considered buying the season pass to support the game, but F that when every time I hit grade 3 or 4 I get chased and sunk by either players or skelly gallions

What does buying the Pass have anything to do with what grade emissary you are? Oh right..double Rep but still. It a choice, you dont have to do it. Even as support for Rare, playing the game and building player count also helps Rare. More people that continue to play.

Sunk by Galleon/Skeleton ships....again. Even without X2 it happens so what the difference? Turn in often, a lot more often.

Why can't you? Seems to be your making it difficult yourself by ranting. Video games are and have always been meant to be fun. You make it a chore by getting upset over them.

@gunnner1 I made 6 million gold doing ashen vaults like 3 or 4 double weekends ago, however, I had the bug where I wasn’t seeing the gold add up to my wallet but it was adding up to my emissary value. I figured it would catch up eventually but it never did. I emailed Rare and they just said give it 72 hours, well 72 hours later and no gold. Eventually they sent me 100k gold as an “I’m sorry “ which was appreciated but I’m still missing 5,900,000 to this day.

I guess stop crying about gold you never even turned into an outpost? I work in dentistry, have 2 kids, and work 8-6 5 days a week. I still can make 500k on Saturday doing merchant alliance for a few hours

Hey, if you don't like the game, don't support it. But it sounds like you find the game to be fun and it's just player interaction that's getting you down.

I disagree that they don't care about working folks or those that don't have much time. The Spanish Sea Forts were added for just that purpose. I only get to get on a few hours per week, and those things are a lifesaver if I'm just trying to get a quick session in. As for Tall Tales, they have the checkpoint system now so if you get sunk you don't have to start at the beginning. That's a change Rare made to accommodate people more, as in the beginning you would always have to start from the very beginning of the Tall Tale.

Like others have said, don't raise an emissary flag and you are less likely to get targeted. And maybe it's a mind-shift needed. The goal of the game isn't to get gold or whatever, it's to have fun! Stop thinking about the treasure as "progress" and just focus on the moment. When someone comes rolling up, just give them the best fight you can. You'll get better eventually. I'm no sweat, but I sunk 2 Brigs yesterday as a solo sloop. You learn as you go, and even when sinking, it's always just about doing your best and having fun.
