Not taking a side on this, I just wanted people’s feedback on specific servers where you couldn’t raise a reaper flag. It would simply remove all benefits/negatives of being a reaper emissary. No level 5 reapers seeing all other emissaries, but also no max return loot sells for anyone.
Feedback Wanted - Reaperless Servers
If the reapers are gone on the server, then all emissary mechanics should be removed as well. That way there would be a balance again.
The reapers are the counter balance to the emissary system. Its a risk vs reward system. The emissary levels give you a reward, and the reapers provide the risk.
This is how it should be.
reapers carry this game
pve, pvp, pve/pvp it doesn't matter
they are opting into a higher risk for reward
servers thrive when people invest, reaper is high investment into a server.
Every server with at least 1 reaper that is putting in some sort of loot production or circulation on it is a better server for it.
Emissary system is by far the best thing added to this game when it comes to making a server healthier and more active, none of the other content comes even close.
Everything wrong with reaper right now
- can spot anything with emi flag 5 without effort (pve loots should not give reputation ! this is ridiculous - only pvp robbed loots and fights should give them emissary levels, with this only feature you clean the problem)
- can be merged into a new server when everybody on theirs are gone away (by quitting after being farmed, and, btw ruin the runs of other player by popping randomly next to them on a new map)
- best gold farming emissary (w.tf ??)
- everybody in end game playing this, more than athena which should be the main faction in the game logic (where is the balance ? Why i get a trash quest in merchant or soul order at lvl 5 ? why it's harder to farm athena's reputation than sunk people who farm it ?)
Arena used to be great for PvP. Open world pvp with these features are putting a huge amount of frustration.
Reaper is pure garbage, people running in team of 3 or 4, chase you and you have no chance if you are playing solo or with a mate in sloop. I stop playing until this is nerfed.@seaofthighs5711 said in Feedback Wanted - Reaperless Servers:

The fact is that reaper is easier to up than any other emissary and the benefits are crazy.@helloss-73 Why shouldn't pve loot help Reapers? Reapers are all about depriving the other trading companies of loot. They care not at all where it comes from.

@captain-coel correction: 95% of the game. 95% of the game is pve period…so no it woukd be boring…maybe to you but for most not so much
@madfrito99 nope PvEvP game. neither would be worth it without the other. This game was built upon cres interacting with each other in a positive and negative way. In fact it's such a cornerstone of the game there are mechanics in pve meant to send/nudge you to other crews. PvE generates loot, PvP makes having it exciting.
Plus reaperless servers wouldn't change anything. People would just "Reap" with a different flag up.
@captain-coel we disagree and thats fine…for me and others not having pve would still make the game fun for us because there is still so much to grind and do…sure for the few who have done everything i can see it being boring…but no you dont need to have pvp to make the game fun.,,between the tall tales, new adventures, voyages, etc plenty to do that is fun that doesnt require pvp
@helloss-73 merchants are probably the fastest grade 5. Reaper got its nerfed so I’d say it’s the second slowest.
Nah reapers are fine. The only problem with reapers are server ports where they can just TP in next to random people that don't even know they are there because they checked the map 2 seconds before and they have no clue a reaper just popped in next to them. Either add an alert when a ship ports into your server like, "Another ship has just appeared" at the top of your screen, or deduct reaper levels upon TP. Pick one.
Otherwise when these reapers chase me I play dirty. No thanks

Spain, you? Hahaha, so offtopic... but yes. Reapers are not the problem here. Any ship can sink you if they want, cause they are allowed... so Reaperless server will be still the same.
