Allow players to decide in options whether to allow auto aim or do it manually. Would be great for beginners

random casual (xbox and pc) pirates with fps experience that have a few weeks of sot experience can take me out fairly easily sitting on my 10k hours of piratical experience
I haven't hit anything since goldeneye
players have improved quite a bit on average over time in this game for shooting. I end up around plenty of pirates that hit their shots well even if they don't have the performance in other areas.

I mean if all that makes controller players happy, sure. I dont really have skin in the game when it comes to that. I do think sea of thieves is a little behind in this regard because rare didnt anticipate, I think understandably, people treating their silly pirate adventure game as a serious combat environment. They have stated they are working to improve combat. So hopefully changes like the ones listed are comming

@pinklemonade422 This might actually be the worst idea I have ever heard. What is the point in getting good if you can just turn on aimbot and have flawless aim while doing no work? How about we just add opt-in god mode that still allows you to attack players while we're at it too? Hell, just give everyone some mod menu that lets you just kill people on demand. Nobody needs aim assist, just practice and get good. There is no reason why new players should be able to beat experienced players just by turning on a single setting, that gets rid of the point of the game. The only progression you get aside from cosmetics is improving your skill, which won't matter in the least bit if a day one-er just decides to turn on that funny aim assist button and starts nailing shots from half a square away. It's just stupid.

If you use a blunderbuss you literally have to be looking at someone and pellets fill the screen.
If you want to use a pistol or EoR or sword then...

Everyone is on an even playing field here. You don't need boosts to help you, because everyone else is playing fine.
This would be the first step to turning Sea of Thieves into a self-playing-interactive-movie type game that has possessed the rest of the game Industry
