JUST CURSE IDEAS
I understand everyone has varying opinions on weather curses should be a huge grind, or easy to obtain. I am not suggesting one or the other only that the ashen curse has become boring. And it’s the only one worth it really it (not doing all tales 5+ times).
Let me start by saying I’m a day 1 player. I participate in just about every aspect of SOT and respect the developers.
However: I think only having 4 curses is a little muted and boring. Considering the VAST amount of cosmetics for literally everything else. Once you have the gold hoarders curse (you get the OOS curse in the process) and the ashen curse there isn’t anything else worth grinding for. We need more end of game curses/ cosmetics that can be EARNED instead of just charging 12 million for a wheel. Something to show off and be proud of, like the ashen curse use to be.
*with the new sea creatures a barnacle curse would look fantastic. It would match many ship cosmetics and even goes with the pirates of the Caribbean thing. Bootstrap bill and all that
*a soul flame curse/ or fort of the damned curse.
Ethereal flames or maybe smoke of differing colors depending on the curse you got (one of each lantern color).
the soul flame curse being green Of course. Could have a gated heart with the soul flame in the chest. (For people who wanna earn soul flames without spending real coin)
- mermaid curse.
Similar to the king splash tail costume your character could develop gills (cosmetic only).
Maybe some fins on the arms or back/ears.
By no means does this one need to be flashy. Skin color would be great perhaps even a slight eye change to resemble the mer-folk.
*curse of sorrows (earned by finding and turning in X amount of chest of sorrows)
A blue version of the OOS curse perhaps. Making your pirate looks like he is endlessly weeping. Even small things like I feel would add so much the immersion.
*curse of black powder (earned by turning in kegs/sinking ships with kegs. Could get creative here)
I was thinking about an “ACME” style explosion look. Black soot covered face- hair standing straight up. Maybe ash coming off hair or singes.
*kraken OR megladon curse.
Everyone knows how hard it is to hunt krakens for sport. Why not make thinning the beard worth it and create a curse for defeating the kraken so many times.
Character could grow little suckers on forearms that are more pronounced closer to the sword. Thinning as it goes up the arms.
Maybe skin discoloration in areas/ differing eyes/ eye color.
Tentacle beard like Davy Jones
*plant curse (similar to plant skelly)
Plants growing into skin, vines thorns or flowers/ plant buds. Painful looking or otherwise I think this would cater to some more peaceful players;)
*the drowned ones curse. OOS curse but with more thought into it/ upgraded.
Instead of just the eyes being blacked out, the ink could travel from the eyes and down the entire body in patterns or just a flow.
Blacked out hands/ extremities.
Could have the hands be half dark skelly or pieces rotting.
- the much needed merchant curse or curses.
Snake/ pig/ chicken aesthetics/ or tattoos
Could be the merchant symbol on the chest (globe) similar to pirate legend curse but not glowing.
A gem for an eye? (Not a patch)
