whats more important in a naval fight
supplies or team callouts
which of these would win the fight?
during the fight there is no boarding
how would team coordination help in a situation where both teams are on equal skill and on equal amount of supply aswell (no boarding still applies)
If you don't allow boarding and so everyone is on the ship, supplies are worth more at that point if you have a crew of pirates that knows what they are doing.
@jollyolsteamed Easy; The person at the helm can see where cannon shots are landing better than those firing in a lot of cases, and act as a sniper spotter for cannons. Or if someone spots birds in the middle of a fight and can rally to a barrel or two on the fly, then others helping unload can absolutely be the difference in a fight. But if you don't talk, others on the crew may never notice the birds and barrels, and precious time and supplies will be wasted. Calling out special cannonballs, and timing on when to use them. Seeing chain shots headed for your masts, and calling out for help to catch them and repair. Repairs. Calling out repairs is huge. Asking for a bucket or a board at the right time. Turning sails, in a fight can make or break a naval battle. On a galleon especially, coordinating sails has to be communicated. Even down to calling out low health and being able to hand someone some food. little things. The crew that talks and coordinates well on low supplies is far more dangerous than a fully stocked crew with less communication. If two crews are equally skilled and communicate... it's all about positioning and landing those well placed cannon shots and hopefully knock folks away from repairing! I would much rather have a coordinated crew than skilled individuals who do their own thing. PvP lords do not always good crews make.
@jollyolsteamed Well this scenario is purely hypothetical as you've declared no boarding, but supplies can be gathered mid fight, and there's really no way to compensate for lack of communication. If your helmsman can't see and crashes into a rock midbattle because of lack of callouts, for example, you're gonna have a harder time than the crew that is talking.
