When did u start playing

  • This is just a curiosity question, also i dont counts playing when the game first came out then taking a 2 year break.

So not including my 2 year break i started October 2019 during the FOTD monthly update.

  • @doomscorp Since the second or third alpha...So...

    A long time....

    Maybe 4 years now?

  • I have the launch EoR but not the day 1 Eyepatch.

  • Day one game release date. Haven’t taken a “break” but hasn’t become a every day event like before.

  • At Launch, my kids told me about this awesome Pirate game they wanted. I believe it was Easter weekend.

Got Game Pass to play it.

They played it once and said it was trash cause there was no progression.

I’ve been playing it ever since.

I’ve taken 3 month brakes here and there.

SOT’s is a session based game and takes a good 3 free hours of time to have a really good session.

So if RL is busy or if I go a week or
Two without a good crew I’ll tap out for a bit.

When I do play SOT’s I pretty much play it exclusively.

    Same for me.

  • @Lem0n-Curry and @PithyRumble did u take a break though?

  • Since the open Beta

My internet was gone a couple of weeks ago from Friday 16:45 - Tuesday 8:03 😢 (i.e. my not working days ...). That may have been my longest break; I don't play ever day but multiple times a week.

  • @doomscorp i started with the last open beta for an hour and immediately pre-ordered. Longest break I took was 8 days to go sailing on a brigantine around the USVI and BVI

Funny, to me it's vice versa, i have the day one eye patch, but missed to buy thw launch crew EoR.
I started playing in September 2017 during technical Alpha.
Longest break was about 1 or 2 month end 2018.
In early 2019 i got to legend and just before Anniversary i was Athena 10.
I dont play that much anymore, mostly once a week on the weekends with the crew.

  • @doomscorp

I wanted to play beta, but couldn't get my hands on it. I did watch summ1t all the time though, so I knew almost everything there was to know. It almost feels like I had actually played it.

Anyway, I started playing several months after the launch, around September, when Forsaken Shores was already implemented. And the reason for that was that I was just that lazy to reinstall my Win8 into Win10.

Just until recent times, I've never stopped playing. Maybe a few days here or there. But lately, I find it a bit harder to log as I don't really enjoy being handed the same content over and over again. If it wasn't for my crew to "summon" me to player-ship hunting I definitely would have stopped until the next expansion.

  • @doomscorp I think it was April 2017 when I got in to the alpha. I've had a couple of weeks off here and there to play other games, but I've always found my way back to this one!

  • @doomscorp

Couldn't believe this when I worked it out, but Dec 2016 was the first time I set sail on the seas with a few of the Deckhands of the time - not surprised that I still sail though, I do tend to stick with games I love even if now and then my focus strays to others for a while.

  • Just went back in my emails to pull up my first invite... brought a tear to my eye...

  • Since the first month of release, and my longest break was between the period of waiting for anniversary.

  • @musicmee

Dude, I can only imagine how great receiving that e-mail must have been for you.

  • I have always said that I joined during the Closed Alpha, but in truth it was probably more likely during the Technical Alpha - either way, it's still been a long time! And unlike others, I have no real sizable gaps of missed sailing. Also, I delete my emails. 😅

  • November 21st, 2019. The yearly anniversary’s nearly coming up! It’s been a good year, with mainly playing on the weekends with school going on. I took a break during the Crews of Rage update, but I was back in force for the rest of the time. I plan on staying for as long as I can!

  • Started from the first Scale Test.

Had to upgrade my potato to Win10 just to get to that point.

Been on hiatus for about seven months now.

  • A long time ago , on a Sea far far away , somewhere in the year of the Lord 2016 ... Jezus , time flies ...i'm getting old ( - You never grow old , George ... You just..."Level up")

  • @doomscorp tried in the open beta a bit...bought in on release, I played every day about the first 6 months, now about once or twice a week

  • July 2017

It took me a long time to find the email, a looooooooonnnnnnnngggggg time. (over 2000+)

  • Haha, two weeks ago.

Glad to have finally discovered it, but probably need to start trying to avoid binging it now!

  • @doomscorp June 1st(?) 2019. Started playing during the Skeleton Ship update. Still playing SoT through today. The longest break I took was for about 2 months, with smaller breaks every now and then.

Sail with me - I need a new swabbie to scrub me deck! 😋

  • Since the pre order beta if there was one on Xbox can’t remember, if not then i played on the final beta before launch

  • @doomscorp

I've been on board and loving it since May of 2018, (shortly after the game's March 2018 public launch) never missed an event!

  • A little while ago, sometime when Heart of Fire came out on a gold and glory weekend

  • It was one of the free to play days and then I got hooked on it

  • A long time ago

    On a alpha build

    A long long time ago

In a place where chickens and pigs didn't exist

    *starts playing bosun bill *

  • Well shiver me ta timbers, how the years have sailed by!
