Add a Man O' War

  • Sea of Thieves is supposed to be a almost real pirate game. There are more than 3 ship classes in certain pirate games like Assassins Creed Black Flag. The Man O' War should be added to fit 7 people, have 5 masts, and should be 2 levels of cannons(4 on each deck on each side).

  • @colonialjdawg nah man. too big. too many people

  • I do like the idea of a man of war in SOT but then you have to think of a place for it in the game. It would have to be a heavy set ship, but then how would it keep up with other boats(especially sloops). Everyone would be able to get away from it unless it is strong with the wind for quick/unsuspecting attacks. If they could balance this I would be excited to see the results.

  • @nerfgunninja87 I was kinda thinking make the galleon except bigger with more speed. Take The Queen Anne's Revenge for instance. It was fast and maneuverable with a lot of firepower.

  • @colonialjdawg
Well why would anyone use the Galleon then. People would just do 4 man ‘Man O’ War”.

  • @colonialjdawg

Great idea. I think we should add a Frigate and a Ship of the Line.

The Frigate would be the new 4 man ship with 3 cannons on each side. The current galleon would become a 5 man ship and the new Ship of the Line, or Man o War would become a 6 man ship with 5 cannons on each side.

  • @coffeelight5545 Yes. That's even better than what I would've thought.

  • @colonialjdawg I whole heartedly agree on adding a new ship type to Sea Of Thieves! I would recommend you check out this older post as its very similar to your ideas.

This post is very in-depth with many links. I would recommend checking it all out.
    Cheers!

  • Never shall happen. Can't be balanced at all in a way to be fun for players and opponents. Like the Maus in World Of Tanks.

  • @lunar-craze thank you for giving me the link.

  • I've already mentioned it in the past, but I think adding a bigger ship into the game could work - if it's not controlled by players. Picture a larger vessel like the Man O' War being captained by a Skeleton Lord, for example. Tougher, meaner, and a true scourge of the seas - so hard, uneasy alliances must be made to take on the challenge! It would be like the Hungering Deep event all over again, but with a ship instead of the meg. Avast, ye scurvy dog!

  • I've tried to put a MoW concept together, come take a look.
