Deal with troll on a sloop ?

  • Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to deal with a troll when you are on a sloop ? Since you can't brig them even if it's your ship, do you just have to suffer them. Or make it so no one can come everytime as the only option ?

  • @ellisgoodenough I am not really sure what you are asking here. Are you the sloop and have someone trolling you? If they are killing you as soon as you spawn, I recommend scuttling your ship. You are able to find the instructions near the door that opens on the Ferry of the Damned. If you are asking about preventing others from joining your game, make it a closed party. You will still deal with others on the seas, but it prevents anyone else from randomly joining you.

  • Lock the party before joining a solo sloop. Prevent random unknown troll pirates from joining you.

  • You can choose 'Closed Crew' when starting the game, this will ensure no-one else can join you.

If you choose 'Open Crew', you can still change this in the settings menu whilst in-game. I think it's under My Crew then Crew Type.

There is also an option to turn off the ability for friends to join you, just in case there is a troll on your friends list.

Doing an Open Crew on a sloop can lead to this. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is suffer them until they leave or leave the game yourself.

Also keep in mind, it is never YOUR ship. If you join first and someone joins next, you do not get to decide the plans. You both are equal partners. I do not know the specifics about your situation, but your claim that it is your ship caught my attention. I’ve been on ships where someone starts dictating what everyone else needs to do simply because they joined first. That usually goes sideways for them really fast.

  • @Nightmare247365 Sorry, I meant someone joined in my crew and started trolling and thanks.

@entspeak @BurnBacon @WithMyApologies I was hoping they added something to prevent this, thanks for the answer !

@ghostpaw I meant my ship because I've been on it for 1 hour and got some loot and he just joined (the troll), I think I had more to say about what to do with the loot than he does. Otherwise I don't really care as long as we get to where we want.

My favorite answer to this: In the middle of the seas, drop anchor and hold in place. Then talk it out, be weary of throwables and kegs.

Good luck dealing with team trolls. Sometimes just worth switching crew.

  • Trolling the trolls is definitely the most you can make of it, otherwise it can be fun to just leave in a rowboat and keep playing that way. If they can't troll or see you collecting loot, both common incentives are gone. They'll quit soon enough.

  • @ghostpaw Hopefully the Captaincy update (if it ever comes) will fix this so it will be YOUR ship

  • Gotta love the brig on the sloop Drop to your knees and pray for captaincy update is only advice i can give

  • The last I heard, captaincy is not going to happen. The idea was abandoned a long time ago.
