Make the rules of piratry BIGGER so losers stops shoting empty boats docked at outposts

  • This game makes me violent. I said it. Before a bunch of cowards makes me jump off a window, you'll have to tell them obviously that conflicts are resolved at seas, not at docks.

  • @howardlorecraft Your in a Sea of Thieves. Pirates can attack you anywhere and anytime. A pirate being a pirate is not against the code. Instead of getting angry, learn from it and be more pirate yourself.

  • There are NO safe zones. Your fair game anywhere.

  • Yeah dude sounds like you’re playing the wrong game for your play style

  • My play style is one in a while, i need to have a visit at the restroom. Don't you?

Now, go to the pub, walk to Duke and turn back, reach to the entrance and look on your right. There is a code of piratery. REady it and speak again about your "there is no rules in the seas of thieves".

Either they remove that sign and i start shooting still targets like a coward too, either they find a way it's at least considered to be respected by *some players.

No loots, just planks, what do they want, our planks? Their boats are as empty as ours. What's the challenge for? Fighting our nerves to despair for Zero reward?

    Damg

Fight like a real human and not like a coward and we'll sink your boat in a minute.

conflicts are resolved at seas, not at docks.

The water at the docks is still considered part of the sea.

    also:

    *Piracy

  • I’ve never understood why a player gets upset for loading into a server and getting attacked at the outpost. To me that’s free PvP practice. Do some players take gaming and losing so seriously? But when you win it’s ok?

Pirates would attack ports or sea posts. Another crew never knows what a ship could have at an outpost. Not going to lie I’ve hidden ashen keys and chests at outposts. If I return with a key or chest and you there I’m going to try and get rid of you so you won’t see what I’ve got hidden.

  • @howardlorecraft I will sink a boat at an outpost if I want to turn in there. Or if they are sitting at it for more than five minutes. I shoot over to every ship I see. They could have cursed cannonballs I want, or firebombs.

I think you are taking Article 3 of the pirate code too literally. A look into the description reads: "None shall quarrel or overly dissent against another crew, but let every engagement be settled by sword, pistol and good seamanship." This is referring to not send people hate messages on xbox and such because you lost. If the rule was literal, then they would make outposts safe. They are not. The devs have stated that the loot isn't yours until you turn in. Resources are a form of loot to me.

  • @howardlorecraft why would I leave a player at an outpost I need to be at?

  • Switch side. Chose another outpost. Put an alliance flag. Disconnect.

  • I know, just put a "PAUSE GAME FOR ALL CREW" in the game so we can actually EAT and come back after.

  • There is no safe haven in SoT. That particular part of the Pirate Code actually refers to keeping it in-game. It's alluding to not taking your anger out of the game towards another player - like via an XBL message. In other words, it's not literal.

  • Don't even wast time looting. Just load into a server and get on your ship and look for some people to rob/kill. If you sink just start over. You are a sucker if you are doing quests and events yourself. Steal everything you need. PvE is only there so you can steal from the people gullible enough to be distracted by it. I used to get frustrated like you are. Then I only started playing the game when I want PvP. If I want PvE I'll go play a game that won't punish me for it. Just become what you hate. Just don't do PvE and you will never be upset when you get sunk. This is how rare and the streamers want the game to be played. You just have to get the idea out of your mind that its a pirate role playing game. Its a pirate FPS.

oor you turn in your loot go eat or pick better times to play you remind me of my brother when he used to play League "but its an online game i cant pause" who plays a game that they know can take time to finish up when dinner is right around the corner and do you read a whole 300 page book when your in the restroom?

  • @howardlorecraft

Pause game for all crew ?

U meaning by this u have a crew? Maybe don’t eat and go take toilet breaks all at the same time?

Or do u mean u need to eat so u can pause my game so u got plenty of time to finish your thanksgiving dinner?

What a broken option that would be.
I will just pause the game for u when ever I feel like it. And u can be waiting 2 hours till I feel like the game can move forward again.

    No not feeling this
My 2 doubloons on the matter

  • @howardlorecraft

Mostly sink at Docks, when we want to deliver and someone is "in the way" occupiying our parking place.

This is an online game for one, an online game has NO pausing, sometimes people need to be at specific outposts for a tall tale, merchant order or a legends of the sea easter egg.

You cant expect to leasurely go and eat or whatever and nobody to come along, its a risk you take and might get you attacked and sunk or whatever.

The devs have been very clear about there being no safe zones in this game, not at an outpost or wherever.

The pirate code in the tavern is a short and concise version of the full one that can be found on the sot website, there has been made an extension to it last year called the code of conduct and this might be a good read for you:

Be a good sport. Sea of Thieves is a pirate game, and stealth, stealing and battles are all part of the fun. All pirates on the seas accept that, but be a good sportsman in both victory and loss.

  • Do I understand correctly? He wants to be able to pause an online game? Say I got it wrong, please...

unfortunately the OP doesn't understand what online means

The OP clearly doesn't understand anything about this game. His posts are either complaining that he was attacked, or are asking for ideas that have clearly been discussed a hundred times here.

  • @bugaboo-bill That's a little harsh don't you think?

  • Maybe they should what this one post recommended, Every sunk ship drops random barrels. Not barrels of what you had just barrels.

Thus now there is a reason why sinking random ships could be worth. :/

  • @howardlorecraft Open world pirate game :D

here is a code of piratery. REady it and speak again about your "there is no rules in the seas of thieves".

The code isn't so much of a rulebook, it's more of a set of guidelines. With that said, that rule basically means if u got beef with someone, be a good sport and fight it out at sea (As in the sea of thieves, and not actually on top of water.) In other words it says: don't be a sore loser, don't be yelling out profanity or racist remarks, etc... Being a pirate still means u will get attacked anywhere and everywhere so lift ur eye patch up and keep both eyes out on the waves. You can be friendly but cautious as well. Always be prepared to ffight

    Tbh no.
    Did you read the post?
I can do happily without that kind of players.
This aproach is toxic to me.
He isn't playing with others but out to own others.
Im doing PvP all the time it happens, sometimes i am the one who starts it, another time i'm happy i get contested, but this attitude is not my thing.
Maybe a communication Problem, but we have some childs who like to ripp off butterflys wings, laugh and think it's fun.
To me this is to less empathic with my fellow player, no matter where you are, no matter if we cooperate or compete.
    Imho he's wrong.
Sure many Streamers are like he wrote, but the game is no pirate FPS, it is a game to socialize, to RP (although only very few do so), a game to cooperate, compete and immerse.
If someone doesnt care for their fellow players, especially when PvP you miss to be an empathic player and take it all too serious.
He does it out of frustration.
He is just a hater and haters gonna hate.
You do pve? Then you are a sucker to use his words.
He needs some love for sure.

  • @HowardLorecraft

I've been attacked (and killed) while in a Merchant's menu trying to decide if I want to buy a pair of pants. Did I get irritated? Of course. Did I come on here and write up a thread about "chicken fighters" who get cheap kills? Nope. It was annoying but, it's "part of the game" and I started paying more attention to my surroundings.

When I'm at an outpost / island it's up to me to keep my digital head on a swivel because I tend to sail solo and my success is entirely based on either outplaying other players or keeping stealthy enough to not be attacked in the first place.

For the record, I'm not using the "git gud" argument here. More of "keep playing and you'll learn tricks that can keep you out of situations" advice.

  • "The Pirate Code is more of a guideline then actual rules"

  • Yes lets make the game more fun by making more rules and limitting player freedom.

Certainly beats practicing and learning how to actually play the game.

    *yaaawwwnn

Another player not willing to use their spy glass.
    Thats your problem not ours.

You misread the pirate code, disputes are indeed settled upon the sea... as in, the Sea of Thieves (The game)... Not the forums.

  • I dunno but the galleon last night they shot first when i offered the ally from a safe distance and only after they start shooting i start the 3 attack runs solo hammering the anchored galleon at the dock. 🙆‍♂️ greetings from the rainbow pinata boat 🤷‍♂️

  • @bugaboo-bill I've read their post, and don't agree with their stance. It actually used to be them calling for Pve servers before this current mindset. This is, like you said, a frustrated individual who once wanted nothing but to be left alone and now feels like a cornered animal. They blame everyone but themselves for playing a game that probably doesn't fit their play-style. That doesn't fly with me either. I hope they do some soul searching.

Props to them for still going, as they wanted to quit a few weeks ago. I do hope they find some love and find a crew they can do pve and pvp activities with.

Also, I'm ashamed to admit this but I have no idea how to quote people here haha. Have a good day and happy sailing!

I've been attacked (and killed) while in a Merchant's menu trying to decide if I want to buy a pair of pants.

This actually happened to me when I was testing the 'cosmetic reset glitch' last month.

I would log in and run straight to the clothing/vanity chest to check the changes, record results, then server hop and repeat.

One time when I spawned in the Shores of Plenty (Golden Sands I think), I got blunderbooped from behind. I just switched servers immediately because I was in full-on testing mode

I got an xbox message shortly after from someone I've seen on these forums with a 'gg'

I didn't give them a 'gg' in return because I don't feel it's a good game unless both parties are present and aware, however I wish I would've given them a 'well played' because they got me fair and square.

Captain Jho (it wouldn't let me @ them because of the space?): If you read this, well played to you. Perhaps we'll meet again and have a proper duel sometime!

  • @bactatankbill

I thought the same thing when I was killed "chatting" with a merchant. I was scrolling away (in the menu) when I suddenly heard a ~BOOM~ and knew immediately what happened. Didn't even get the GT of whoever killed me because they were gone by the time I respawned.

I was irritated, but was at least willing to give them a "well played" for catching me off-guard. It was almost like the old phrase, "Anyone get the license plate number of that truck that just hit me?!" because it was just that sudden. LOL!
