Personally I think flintlock is kind of garbage. It just needs more of a use. Maybe it could reload faster than the blunder or sniper something else but I can't see a practical use for it. I love how the flintlocks look but I can't find a reason for it to be in the game and I wish you'd give it some sort of buff.
Flintlock
It does reload faster (in fact, it has the fastest reload of all 3 firearms), is easier and faster to aim at close to medium range, can actually hip fire accurately, and has slower bullet velocity that makes it perfect for use as a flare gun. It has its place, and where it sits in its role, it's nigh on perfect, IMO. Easily my favorite firearm.

That changes very fast if you have an one vs one under water and the guy finishes reloading and kills you before you get the chance with your EoR.
I have the tendency to grab a EoR, but been grabbing the flintlock out more often and it does feel more forgiving and pretty decent overall. Maybe you should just give it a try.

What is fast-reload? Is this an exploit?
@nofears-fun There is no way to reload faster. He's just referring to the fact that the flintlock reloads faster than the other firearms by default. He's unsure that it does, when I say otherwise.
My loadout is cutlass and flintlock. Very dependent on the situation that I’ll use a blunderbuss or EoR.
The flintlock is a jack of all trades master of none. But when you master it’s uses you can make players panic. If you got distance on a pirate with a blunder just be cool and make your shot count. They will either eat or rush. By the time you reload and get the second shot their either dead or close to it.

This. Pistol is honestly the best PvP gun right now. Speed and accuracy are huge winners. On top of that, both the pistol and the sniper takes TWO shots to kill a player no matter what. So unless you're comboing your sniper shot with a blunder or firebomb... You're gonna want to use the pistol usually (and the combo idea still works just fine with the pistol anyways, since the pistol only does 15% less damage than the sniper).

why not i would love to see the flintlock have a damage buff
Late to the conversation, but the game is unfair to Flintlock, not because I am an avid user of it, but because the bullet range for it was silently Nerfed, while increasing the range of blunderbuss knock-back and damage. I know why this is happening, I said it in another post, and I dont think it will change anytime soon, including double gunning. Much Big Sad.

I had no idea the range of the flintlock was nerfed. Really? 😯

The blunderbuss knockback range was nerfed recently and I've never heard of the flintlock being nerfed. If it was a silent fix, how do you know about it?
I have been using Flintlock since almost launch and never changed, I used to be able to get kegs on a crows nest from a far distance, now the bullet curves downwards just before that. I did not immediately notice that, because it started as "something doesn't feel right" then overtime i confirmed it after asking several others in the community.
I believe this happened around the first DLC after anniversary update, it has been a while now. Several other flintlock users reported the same.
@phuzzybond It could have something to do with the bullet velocity changes. At about that time, they spead it up for both the EoR and the BB, but I don't know if they left the flintlock untouched or slowed it down. Either way, I distinctly recall the devs saying the flintlock was not increased due to balance reasons, and so the shot could linger in the air longer like a flare.
