This message is unnecessary for PC players. We know we don't have a choice who we share the seas with.
It is also inaccurate. If the message is to stay, it should read "Sailing the Seas with everyone except Xbox Players who opted out of cross-play".
Or maybe "Sailing the Seas with players on all devices".
@surveyorpete Could it be possible the reason it tis there is when the Xbox players get merged into a Crossplay lobby due to inactive xbox servers would like to know that this had happened? I don't look at it as a slap In the face but just info that needs to be given.
@inboundbomb This is my assumption. I believe the player population of servers takes priority over the opting out, so when there aren't enough xbox-only players or enough cross-play players, then the server merges happen to put them together.
I have no problem with some message being displayed to XBox players who did try to choose to opt-out of cross-play, but for whom matchmaking failed to find a Xbox-only server. But the wording is still inaccurate.
@archaell The Xbox servers have been thriving! It's been System overload on every server I've been on! The Crossplay servers have been a bit more quiet. What used to be around an 8/2 ratio in favor of Xbox players on crossplay is now around a 7/3 ratio in favor of pc players (according to my "recents" list). I hope RARE finds a way to supplement the crossplay servers! Maybe move server dominate Xbox players into crossplay servers every two hours or so?
@inboundbomb But why would a PC player need to know this? The Xbox player, yes. They want to know if they got merged into a cross-play lobby, but PC players already know this.
