This is not a complaint about the actual delay added to the sword when striking, it's about all the issues that came along with it.
The new sword delay transfers to other items if you fairly quickly do a swap after you draw your sword. We are used to left/right click while equipping the treasure map or other items for example, but now the click doesn't respond since you have to wait for the animation on that specific item to finish and then click again. It's like every action is stuck and you have to "spam" the mouse to get the interaction you want. It's annoying and makes every action clunkier.
Also in combat, you can't block right away due to the sword wield animation that needs to play out. So swapping guns during combat actually punish you due to the delay. And don't get me started on food; If you shoot someone, draw your sword, get shot and you want to heal? There's a delay.
I've also noticed that the sword thrust/dash is slower to respond from click to begin animation and also causes major frustration due to the block delay upon drawing the sword. Again, you can't block right away. Using this in PVE or PVP moments is pure pain.
I'm 100% positive that these delays to other items related to the sword are not intentional since all they wanted to do was to delay the strike, not any other interaction that comes after the sword wield.
Rare, you really need to fix this issue. Once you swap to an item/map/other gun after the sword draw, the delay should be cancelled out. Everything you do now feels very stiff and slower.
