WHY IS THERE NO KICK OPTION???

  • I don't understand why there is no kick button? It is so annoying when you are playing and someone in an open crew is taking up one slot and no matter what you do he wont come out of afk or what every he is doing. PLEASE READ THIS!!! Something has to be done!

lock them in the brig after awhile he or she will get kicked by the game mate

  • I see this as needed, currently the game gives a person the power to hold an entire crew ransom. I know people will chime in with, "I would rather have this than being mobbed by premades." Sure, that is a risk, but that seems more unlikely than the latter. That at least requires multiple people with a dingus mentality. The current system only requires one. At least a group requires at least some coordination, while also requiring full cooperation, something even less unlikely with open crews.

I would add, it even fits the theme of the game with how democratically things are voted on. Everyone has a say, so why not extend that to removing a crew member? We can still keep the brig, but I see a vote kick as the lesser of evils.

  • @j4k3789 Because kicking option is a slippery slope you can join a crew work with them for hours and just before you will cash in everything they will kick you and invite a friend and vice versa.
A good solution is while you are in the brig you dont get money or rep that would really punish players and would make them think more about their actions,
    Happy sailing my friend!

  • @nabberwar ill give and example of this power being abused... brig, 2 crew random joins completes the voyage is booted for another friend of the original 2.. random robbed of his loot. Bad experience less people in open crew.. well that's why I always assumed it was never implemented. However I have had times like this when the boot option would have been ideal

I'm aware of the possibilites, but I see it as this. That required the coordination of at least two people the current system only needs one to cause havoc. Their is more singles than their is cooperating duos in this game. At least requiring dinguses to work together, might reduce the numbers. Hypothetically, say this game has 100 people who only wish to cause grief. 100 individuals can cause more grief than say 50 duos. That is the same amount of people, but by making them forced to cooperate, you reduce incidents by half. 100 individuals can cause 100 seperate incidents, but 50 duos can only cause 50 incidents, that number reduces even more if you were to incorporate trios with Galleons.

I get the fact that no system will be perfect and their is always room to grief, but I feel like this at least has a reduced amount.

That same scenario could have had this outcome. They vote you into the brig and proceed to do nothing but puke on you without actually doing a voyage. Different outcome, but similar result.

  • @nabberwar very true I think I'm inclined to agree with you

  • Because a kick option would definitely be abused.

If someone is doing an open crew and doesnt like the player that came onto their ship, they can just kick them for no reason.

Or they can do it to simply troll others.

A kick option would be nice but you know how SoT goes.

I would hate to become part of a crew that opened up crew and kick you when their mate finishes his diner or his #2. I'd rather start a new crew without the AFK'er.

  • @lem0n-curry
Not denying its a trade-off for a different type of nuisance, I still think it makes it harder though since it requires some cooperation.

  • @nabberwar

It's more effort for more punishment. If someone gets brigged for no real reason, they can stay active and move around until the crew simply gives up and sells their things anyways. With this system, people can simply join and AFK rotate, but that'll hopefully be fixed soon (and without patch notes, I hope, to show the AFK farmers and not give them ways around it). When someone joins a crew to AFK farm, the crew can just leave, but someone who worked for the treasure on board can hold the crew against doing that, since they want their reward.
