Way to point out the obvious.....
Yeah you can't have two hats because of clipping issues.. Obviously..
Such issues would not be present with allowing two pets.
@emperorass but you only have 1 pet slot, you'd have the same clipping issues.
But in all seriousness, we dont need an extra pet slot. With 4 players there's already potential for 8 name plates, we dont need that to be 12.
Also with pets sounding the same as players when fired from a cannon, it would just add more pita to search for that mermaid.

A simple solution. Have the pet slots be in the ship not the player. Each ship can have x# of pets based on size of the ship.
Or like in Monster Hunter. We get palico pets that help us fight. There are 4 slots on missions. Two hunters=two pets. 3-4 hunters= no pets. ( Tho in this case it would be only one or per person)
There are options that can satisfy everyone
@trenix90 it could be limited to the amount of people on a boat. Like on a galleon 4 total but they can all be from the same person.
