They can grind it out. Letters of Recommendation should be a super small supplemental part of our journey to legend, not something that people rely on.

Rare cheapened the road to Legend so much, I’m glad they’ve properly made it more challenging again.

People need to stop whining about things taking longer than they’d like them to. So many people in this community see a mountain, then instead of climbing it they ask for Rare to flatten it for them. It’s exhausting to see Rare catering to that mindset.

@capitan-pitbull I can see an argument for wanting to quickly level up to PL, there's quests hidden behind there. But the new ones, what's the point? For cosmetics? For bragging rights, that you didn't actually earn? Is there something else I'm not aware of?

Just a whim of an idea... They could let anyone level up as fast as they want but, at a cost beyond dubloons.
At a certain percentage of leveling up the ones that bought their way get a modified Pirate Legend title and would forever be locked out of the standard Pirate Legend accoutrements. Instead a special color of these items could be had allowing everyone to know that you bought your way into Legend status.

I agree here. Leveling up is super easy without the LoR system :?

I just feel like going from infinite to 1 a month is pretty heavy, and since they still havent brought in the reroll appearance i ended up resetting because i know it isnt coming anytime soon. I agree that it shouldnt have been there at any point but idk, just my opinion. Would like to get my pirate legend status back.

@capitan-pitbull they announced they were gonna do it. they even reminded people to. uy levels if they wanted them for the change.

I'm so confused why people care if a player reaches PL, or any other milestone, in a different way than another player.

If I climbed a mountain and someone else was airlifted to the top, that doesn't reduce or erase the fact that I climbed the mountain.

I guess, I'll just never understand it.

Braggadocio is a huge motivator for gamers.

Well it reduces the relative value of the achievement across the board, which cheapens the experience for dedicated players who enjoy earning hard-to-get achievements and being able to display their dedication on their character.

This is a much larger part of the experience that you might think in a social game like Sea of Thieves, where all of the progression is cosmetic, and our cosmetics are intended to tell our story to other pirates.

So there's plenty of justification to not devalue it for others by allowing people to get there easier...

I appreciate you taking the time to explain the perspective......But you still climbed the mountain.

I just don't see the value in commendations or cosmetics....because they have no real value.
When I see someone with a cosmetic or rocking a title from a commendation....at no point do I ponder how they got it or if they deserved it.

It's just that these things don't matter to me.
They obviously matter to some ..and that's fine.
