We know fire is in the works due to a leak. I have a few ideas on what fire could be used for. I think it'll be a new way to spice up ship combat. Kinda like Greek fire in which we can shoot some form of fire at ships, but it'd have to be a super close range. Perhaps we are getting a tinder box to just set stuff on fire. Like gunpowder or even a ships sails. Or maybe we could set a chicken on fire and let it loose on an enemy ship. All I know is fire is going to be super fun to mess with.

Ive never heard about that leak with fire mechanics to the game.It was accidentally leaked on the Dev stream yesterday by the same guy that leaked pets earlier, and just after getting back from his 6 week ban from doing Dev streams because of that. He was promptly shut down by his co-host. Sounds like he needs the Tom Holland treatment, never let him speak to the public.

@faceyourdemon I remember it being around the 1 hour mark. I also remember it was them sailing at night and just talking about future plans.

Let me explain, lets say that after the burned stage of an item in the cooking pot if you would leave it too long it would light on fire. This fire could then spread trough the ship untill it met an (un)fortunate demise

-Cpt Flameheart could be an fire throwing Skeleton Lord
-Fire Cannonballs
-An Dragon or this Giant Bird AI threats with fire abilities
-Flamethrower instead of cannons, you choose at the Ship Customization or you can find flamethrowers like other things in the world to use it as player weapon or equip to your ship somehow

@noremac-5000 No it was super reckless, companies pays millions for PR and advertizing they way they release new content in any form.

@biter-wylie All im saying is that it was a stupid move and its like a worker who would accidentally leak the new design for playstation 5, no one gets hurt but alot of money just got wasted just because someone couldnt keep his mouth shut thats all.
But yeah even before that ive aways knew that they will bring fire with CaptainFlameheart@dlchief58 so heroes do exist... Lol promote that guy and hire me as his replacement leaker... Its not like little info like that definitely costs them money, could easily build hype and make them more too.

I like it! Imagine sneaking onto a ship and setting a coconut on the grill while they sail to an outpost to turn in. Suddenly mayhem strikes as the fire spreads. “Why are we on fire!?” That’s when you leap into action to stop their bucket brigade as your crew pounces.
@ghostpaw Omg right! imagine the new meta of ship combat being leaving something on your stove. I want to burn down someones ship with nothing but a banana left on the stove.

If you can draw a comparison to millions of dollars invested in a next gen console and the secrecy required that goes in to the dev process to prevent issues, and competition, and its info being leaked ahead of time.. to just a game with a dev making a casual slip up on a potential mechanic in the works that will literally have no effect on the sale of the game.. then i do think you're a little high strung and should simmer down.
The repercussions are entirely not the same. The damage done is entirely not the same. And I doubt he's getting fired over it

@tre-oni Trailers for cotent cost a fortune to make think about all the hours they will spent and money for this so its still is a good exemple.
