Playing SoT after a year

    Hey there,

    It's been a while. I was in the Alpha, Beta and Pioneers programme and had a blast during this time. I started playing after release, but after all that testing playing the game casual wasn't as fun anymore.

    So here I am after a year. And now I don't know what to do first :P. I'm around lvl 15 with Gold Hoarders, Merchan Alliance and Order of Souls. I'm a solo player and I see a lot of things to do.

    Sooooo, any suggestions? I tried doing some Arena, but the random grouping still consists of random leavers. I also go around on adventure without engaging other players, the sloop isn't that fast. (casual stealing is something that happens tho)

    @m0ustacho There are many random encounters and commendations for you to achieve:

    • skelly forts are respawning now every 30 min
    • skelly fleets - fleet where you are fighting with many skelleton ships (gunpowder barrel or balast ball is neccessary)
    • megalodons and kraken are swimming over the seas (they're dropping loot now)
    • fishing - you've got new reputation tab
    • Skelleton thrones - thrones which are spread all over the sea of thieves, try to find them and sit on them
    • Flames and colors - there are flame beacon on the island, raise your lantern and burn them with fire to achieve commendation. Also after you die you can take a special color flame from ferry of the damned (raise your lantern in the middle of the ferry to obtain it) if you die in one of few types of death f.e.: got struck by lighting - your flame will be white)
    • Tall Tales - Story quests in sea of thieves, very well made and enjoyable.

    @m0ustacho Hi there, and welcome back to the fold.
    If you haven't played for a year might I suggest just doing some voyages? You'll come across the Megladon, you'll find some Mermaid statues, see some brigs sail on the horizon and you'll be able to fish, see fog and lots more.

    Also, have you considerd sailing with a crew? Not the matchmaking ones but just hop onto the discord get into a voice channel and try to get a crew together. I love playing solo too and I'm often a lone wolf even in the most hardcore MMO's, Sea of thieves changed my stance on this and I never sail without my new pirate family! :-)

    @bugaboo-bill I like that attitude. Just going for it and will see which riches my voyages have to offer!
