Yes, yes I am. Well, I wish I was...
You see, there is a well known bug making the rounds right now - with the exception of gunpowder barrel explosions, it appears that any caged animal (chicken, pig, or snake) is all but invincible; you can't slice, stab, shoot, or even drown them. This makes performing Merchant Alliance voyages far more frustrating if you accidentally grab the wrong type of animal (accidentally grabbing a black chicken when you need a gold chicken, for example).
...but this thread isn't about that. Oh no. This thread is about an exploit using said bug that I wanted to share just for funsies since I accidentally discovered it last night. The last paragraph was just for context.
I was attacked by another pirate in port while delivering some animals to the Merchant Alliance late last night. He caught me off guard with chicken in hand, and charged with his cutlass. Feathers went flying, yet I remained unharmed. He sidestepped and tried to slice me open; I turned in place to keep the chicken between us. More feathers; still unbleeding. He backed off, drew out his blunderbuss, and fired. The chickens fluffy feathers rebuffed all of it. My chicken was my shield; my protector. This continued for about a minute more before my attacker just gave up out of sheer frustration (my apologies for not recording such an awesome moment).
Normally, I wouldn't share something like this due its gamebreaking nature, but it's my understanding that this bug will be fixed very soon, since Rare is aware of it. So, if you want to exploit the exploit, do it now while you still can - that chicken just might save your life.
By the way, bonus points if you go on the offense and win a fight using a bullet-proof snake to poison your enemies to death. 😏
