Please do something to discourage this b.
Yeah it's a pvp game, but what's the point even going solo or duo or anything if you can't even pvp your way out of a situation. And I'm not even talking about skill. You can't out skill this.
Everyone and their mother seems to now know how the last tale ends and exactly where. So there's crews sitting at the way out of the Gold Hoarders lair practically instakilling people with 2 player Eye of reach oneshot as they walk out with their skull defenseless. You can't even get a chance to respond and drop the skull if you're solo to switch to a gun. How do you counter that as a solo or even duo? You don't. You can't back up in to the cave, your hands are full, your ship is likely long gone, when you've been inside for an hour.
Either remove the commendation to sell the 5 skulls or phase the island for other players and include pvp on as you reach the water. I don't know.. //Edit/ Or actually a sufficient idea is to make several exits from the cave, like 5-6 random exits and have it be a random one each time you finish tale on different sides of the island. That way one crew cannot just camp one exit till the worlds end. You either split up the camp which means counter pvp can happen and people coming out the cave can actually fight back cause one Eye of reach won't insta kill you. You can back up and heal and kill the first camper and then fight reinforcements as they run in from elsewhere.// but currently there's no reason to try to finish the tale, well you can finish the tale, but how does one get the 5 delivery commendations? 10k gold, that's nothing, no one cares about that. Outside the petty campers.
The tall tales are the best part of the entire game, and they are ruined by the shared world experience (one day someone is going to make a single player pirate game, but it is not this day), just exclude them from any gold or rep rewards to discourage people being ******** just out of spite. PVP in arena is fine, pvp in general adventure and chest stealing is absolutely fine. Petty no life morons camping one cave and one cave only for 10k gold and wasted 4 hours is not. IT IS GRIEFING. Then they run away, you spawn back in and get to your ship and sail back and reach them just as they are leaving, BUT guess what.. Your Shroudbreaker is gone and theirs is still on since they haven't completed even the 1st step of the tale, your boat is out of bounds and theirs can stay there as long as they want as long as they don't finish their own tale which they won't cause they don't know how. You can't even access the area to get payback. So the game boots you basically out of the Shores of Gold area by sinking your ship that doesn't have the Shroudbreaker anymore since you finished your tale, you don't even get another shot to try to get your item back, because the game simply won't allow this.
The game DOESN'T need passive modes, it DOESN'T need PVE servers, but it needs some of acts of human kindness so not everything tastes like people just want to st on you 24/7. We don't need to be handheld and all be best friends inside the game. That still doesn't mean we need to do out absolute best to annoy every other player and make their life difficult, just cause the internet is anonymous and you won't get actual retaliation ever. Pvp seems to work as intended, EXCEPT it doesn't, when it's pv without the other p. If i'm boarding a ship or defending a ship, fort where you can see the enemy coming mile away if you're alert, i can take 1v2, heck i've taken 1v3 and 1v4 and won, not always but sometimes. When you exit an instanced corner of a cave with no escape route to go back to, no chance to even see your opponent before being literally oneshot, it's not a pvp problem, it's a game system problem.
Yeah yeah.. you need to be aware of your surroundings and all that, but how does one do that solo when you go in to the lair and it takes like an hour or 2 to complete, anything outside can change in that time and you have no way to track what's happening outside. You can't leave the skull inside to go check outside if it's safe when you're exiting, cause then you won't get it back as you're locked out the cave. You exit a cave that's general knowledge for campers carrying a skull you're trying to protect cause you can't exactly hide it in the one cave you're coming out of. What's next, don't play solo? I have almost no problem managing any other situation solo in the game. Why I mostly choose to play solo even though it is the hard mode in this game, cause well everyone else on this planet is how to put it nicely td (you can't put it nicely) who camps spots like this.. Why would I want to play with these people on the same side? Friends, even the people you'd probably take a bullet for irl, in here all the same, if they can ruin your gaming experience they will all do it, cause they need to lol at you loosing. Cause hey it's just a game, "lighten up it's just a little fun.." When you spend 2 hours sweaty in a cave there's no lighten up coming to this result. What's fun for the other and definitely not for the victim. Seriously? I lost all hope to humanity outside and inside gaming a long time ago, there's no need to go outside since you get st on by sitting on your pc inside just as much. Just when you think you can't hate humans more, turns out you can.

There's no wonder why pve players keep making "closed" up server sessions to do their things in peace. And why pvp players hate that pve players can do them. For the pvp audience this is the future, if things like this keep happening people will start to use every loophole they can to avoid it. It will separate the player base. It's not cool, it's not good for the game, it won't make the game grow and bring more players to it, it will lead to the death of the game. People can only take so much st before they quit or move to a solution like that, where there's zero risk instead of having like a 50% risk involved. Who are you going to be robbing then in adventure? Sea of Thieves needs pvp to have pirates in it, but soon there's nothing to pirate when no one carries anything with them. Servers even now daily seem empty.. Honestly if it's gold you need i'm more than happy to park my sloop outside the fort and clear it for you to take all the loot as long as i can get one bloody 5 skull commendation done, just because of the commendation. But no, it's not about the gold, it's about making other people feel like st when they want to play a bloody game.
