Galleon Vanity Cheat Glitch Removal PLEASE!!!

  • Dude Im done participating in reaper runs and trying to take on other ships doing reaper runs until they fix this glitch, the goto ship for reaper run cheaters is the galleon because of the vanity chest glitch that allows players to shoot across the ocean to your ship, they board it and drop your anchor and cause nothing but misery.

Now before you call me salty I get this can happen if you chasing a ship closely and sometimes far away if your going in a straight line but when the ship is 5 map squares away and they board your ship that's when I know they are cheating with that glitch and pretty much takes the whole fun out of them game now the cheaters move is mainstream now.

If you have to exploit a game glitch to win at a game it just shows you have no skill and no respect towards other players and its developers.

  • Any proves for that glitch I've never heard of?

  • I was under the impression that using the vanity chest to launch yourself was fixed months ago. Perhaps they found a new way to do it.

  • @testakleze perhaps this is true or the person wasn’t watching ladders, whatever the case @MasterLink4253 take a vid of it next time then raise a support ticket to Rare

  • Well that explains it. Had this used against myself and crew and we were totally confused where this offending pirate was materializing from. I don't remember exactly how long ago it was, but this pirate was doing exactly that, just showing up on our boat, dropping anchor and totally messing up a crew that isn't expecting combat for another couple minutes from our approach.

At the time I thought it was our fault and that the opponents were planning our route from afar and launching someone off to swim far away into our path as their ship wasn't leaving it's location, but it felt unlikely that they would be able to so so quick.

  • If any of y'all can reproduce the glitch, sendin' it straight to Rare via the support site is probably the best and fastest way to get somethin' done about it.

But, I would like to point out that just because someone makes it onto your ship, and you can't account for how they did it, doesn't make them cheaters, or glitch abusers.
My crew and I frequently swim very long distances (2-3 squares, give or take), and still get called cheaters by the people we board.
It is absolutely possible to just swim or row longer than you'd think it was.

  • Does this glitch still exist? I'm gonna have to give it a try next session. Not for nefarious purposes. But just because it was so fun to do.

  • @masterlink4253

Ahoy there, we'd recommend submitting a ticket via Support for this as it can be passed directly to the right team to address.

I can confirm this, one of my crew swam from Old Salts Atol to Discovery Ridge stole a Captains Chest and swam back!

  • How do you know they used this glitch explicitly?

Nothing personal, but you've been sailing for a little over 3 weeks, lets face it, you're just learning to walk in this game. Allow me to spin another tail of a theory, on what could have happened. You said you were running the Reapers Run voyage, the thing about this voyage, is that its the same voyage no matter who or when it is started. Its the same islands, so had you completed it earlier, you know exactly where to go.

If I were in a mood to perform some mischief, I would place people on a spot where I know your gonna go. Now you don't say whether you were near an island or at open sea, so this is only theory crafting, but you might have been on near land. That's a really easy boarding spot. Added to the fact that you are new to this game, you may not understand the signs to look for another player. Was there a mermaid present?

If you know for a fact they used a glitch then report the bug.
