Character Changing (gender and general character change) Without Loss of Game Data

I always wondered why they didn't put that into the game in the first place. I've been playing since day 1 of the official release and when I chose my character I carefully picked mine out to my usual liking, skinny but buff, and I dont regret my decision but something like this would definitely help bring players back that didn't like how you couldn't do that at all. I have several friends that stopped playing bcuz of this alone.

Guys I spend 2 hours choosing my pirate, because they told us that we can't change it. So I read this almost every day. Every pirate is unique, that's why it's generated. If it would be possible to change the appearance by yourself it would destroy this uniqueness. The only thing I can imagine is, you could buy the chance to pick a new pirate out of the generator, it should cost 20 euros, so it's not getting abused.

@fearthebeardig bruv if you could chose your appearence it would not destroy the uniqueness. if anything it would create uniqueness. the pirates all look the same rn anyways like seriously they really do. especially when everyone wearss the same cosmetics because there arent many cosmetics in the game. have you seen other games where you are actually able to customise your charecter. i can tell you its alot less common in those games to see charecters that look the same.

with me, i would love to play as a fat pirate. then next month i would love to play as a skinny pirate. then next month i would like to play as a buff pirate. then next month i would like to play as a female. thats just how i am, i cant stick to the one thing, but if i could swap through them i would spend alot of time on all of them. it would be like my personal crew, when i get sick of the huge fat guy i could swap to someone else till i start liking the fat guy again. plus its fun to mess around with different things. like its cool to have a female with a beard, sometimes you just want to play as a pirate that looks funny, and sometimes you want to look cool, sometimes you want to be fat. ya know what i mean?

Can understand why you would want this but i know there is people out there prefare it as it is.

It’s cool bumping into a pirate you recognise not only by name but also appearance.

On the other side, you’ve actually paid good money for the game and shouldn’t have to grind all that again purely for looks.

What if instead of that though cuz I just thought of this what about different pirate profiles? Like say oh i dont wanna play my main so I'll load into my new female pirate and grind that one out so you have another pirate legend in the works. Have multiple pirates to choose from?

I spent 5 hours rolling the pirate wheel before I finally got a lady pirate I liked. And even back then I had just had to settle on it because I couldn't get any I liked better that looked half as good as she did. She was blind in one eye but that eventually grew on me as she legit needs an eyepatch over it unlike most pirates. And she had dark hair but when they finally added hair dye I was able to fix that. I think they just need to keep adding ways for us to customize our characters physical appearance, they added store tattoos and store scars. And hair dye. They just need to keep adding to our options.

@blackelite-id16 that sounds cool like everytime you load into the game have a huge variety of pirates to choose from in the generator screen. So people can be all like I wanna be a fat pirate for a little bit or something else for example.

I like the idea of that but I feel like the downfall for it would be having to find the pirate you want everytime, for people that like their pirate, they would have to choose refresh over and over till they found their pirate again.

I still think though if it had multiple pirate profiles so people can make a new pirate without having to worry about their main pirate, that would also make some people come back, especially in my friends list anyways.
