Yes you should, because this is how the game was designed. It's a PvPvE game. It's not the average boring grindfest MMO where everyone is essentially playing a single player game next to each other. This is more of a "playground". If you're old enough you'd know it's not a new idea, but for some reason gamers today detest change and innovation.

So when my ship is parked at an outpost or an island with no booty... and ppl keep coming by blowing up my ship and just sailing away what skill do I need to I need to improve to stop this from happening? The skill of banning ppl who are there to just ruin others fun?

I am not a fan of separating pvp & pve but Rare seriously needs to do something about the trolling. You would think NOT REWARDING sinking others ships would deter people.. but of course not.

I like many others don’t have hours and hours to sit and play for long periods of time.. so when I do get to sit and play it is extremely frustrating when you have people playing who are simply here to attack others and sour their experience.

Does it hurt me in the long run in the game.. no.. I take care when I have cargo aboard... I can hide treasure and return later if I do find something on an island but my boat is destroyed...

Does this added time and annoyances make me choose to play something else with my limited time? It sure does..

When enough people complain about something the devs will generally listen. Especially with a game that is intended to be around and update for a decade.

would hurt lots.. they would be forced to split the servers and be forced to buy more servers to run the servers for people who fail to get the concept of a pvp based game.. i'm sorry you are bad at pvp but you shouldn't force the rest of us to suffer due to ur incompetence... just like this notion of safe zones.. its simple if you feel like you are going to get attacked.. run and turn your stuff in when you see a gallie nearby

how are we to know if you have loot on the ship?? do you stock your cannon barrells?? bananas? that removes a potential ship from play that could over power yours during say a fort event..

if your solo sure i understand it could be a pain.. maybe try duos or gallies.. you could leave a spotter on the ship...

@captaveasgay I highly recommend the game salt. It has a good pve only basis with cooperative play. It may be a better fit for your play style than SoT which has been stated by the devs is intended to have PvP in it as it's the only actual danger to you on the seas. I am mostly a pve player but realize the nature and need for the PvP elements needed to keep the game rewarding and relevant.

@captaveasgay We're mostly salt merchants here, also if you want "Sail Simulator 2018" you'll need to wait until someone makes it, Sea of Thieves is about pirates fighting other pirates.
