Calling all SOTTERS, UNITE!

  • @europa4033 I've used similar examples before (e.g. you wouldn't demand tacos at a pizza place) for when players suggest things that just don't fit well within the game.

What if your steakhouse offered food options for a few years and then discontinued them? Would that reasonably upset some of their customers?

What if they introduced new food options that were good for a few weeks, and then for some reason, the quality of those options dropped and leveled off or steadily declined? And this just became a pattern whenever they introduced new options. Would that reasonably upset some customers?

What if the most common complaints on yelp (roaches, smelly restroom, dirty tables), that impacted anyone's experience, were also never fully addressed? Is the issue that these customers expect something unreasonable?

What's funny is, after being made to feel like I'm out of place for asking Rare to bring back my flying dragon (Arena), and after being told my feedback was in the fringe minority, and I should move on... I find out 4 years later that they want to play-test a sloop version.

  • Yeah you guys are so damn right.

For example, people should stop demanding for clothes presets. It's like less than 1% of the player base that openly demand it?
    Nuh-uh.
    It's giving entitled...

  • As I have already tried the route of minimizing the misinformation in order to let the thread remain open but it is now, unsurprisingly, devolving further - I am going to drop anchor with a few words here.

Devs on all levels have their hands full with the work that corresponds with their position whithin the company and the production flow. Therefor there are other people dedicated to assisting in the gathering and compiling of feedback and suggestions. Ultimately, this feedback is presented to relevant devs/teams - as is. If the feedback is negative around something, that is what will be presented. If something is brought up/asked for frequently it is presented as something that is frequently asked for/brought up.

The fact that specific devs are not spending their time replying to forum posts is not in any way the same thing as them never seeing or not being aware of said feedback.
