The option to change your pirate without losing the last one you played forever

  • Lately I've often thought about changing my pirate to a female one, to change a bit and try out some new outfits, but theres one thing, that always stands in my way and that is not the money for the potion or something like that, its the fact that even if Im happy with my new pirate, I don't wanna lose the other pirate, that I've been playing with for the past 4 years.

So my idea was, that you should either be able to have an all-time option to switch between a male or female pirate, or a in my mind more realistic option, to have the pirates, you played at some point saved in the selection menu every time you use a potion, so that you can switch back from a pirate that you are playing now to one you played 3 months ago.

  • just let people have 4 characters or 8 characters, whatever number

they have an achievement for 15 boats lol no reason not to at this point

lets people do challenges and events and have different looking pirates without needing alts or pirate potions

get rid of pirate potions, give people 2 free pirates and then let them pay the buck or buck and a half for every pirate after that (would probably make more money this way)

imo this really could expand on role playing and captaincy with all the different captained ships

  • You remind me of my daughter - she also has a hard time to choose what she actually wants and persuades to keep everything.

Anyways - I'm going to be constructive here and remind you, since you already are an Insider, you can try the male/female outfits with Insider characters. I know, it is not persistent, or connected to your main, so it is not exactly what you want, but it could be a fresh change without consequences.

Finally - why not. Why not keeping some of those generated pirate models in stash to re-generate. It can bring some extra revenue for studio as well.

Well that is the price players have to pay when they "demanded" change to there look. If your not committed to losing something, your not gonna earn something.

I don't wanna lose the other pirate, that I've been playing with for the past 4 years.

Than...you have your answer? Don't do it.

Deep down, you have what you need, nothing new is gonna change.

It's a game, RL is filled with "hard line" moments, games don't need to be.

@WolfManbush "imo this really could expand on role playing and captaincy with all the different captained ships"

EXACTLY! Add to that the different emissaries, I could easily have a different char for Reapers vs Merchants.

  • Just want to add that when people start to get bored in other games, they start a new char and do it all over again, which increases long term retention.

It's preference within role playing, story telling, and expression

it's not something that requires consequences

Some of us prefer 1 character and some prefer more

they incentivize having 15 ships, that doesn't even make sense without offering people the opportunity to have different characters to support that change.
