So all of our merchants have similar naming schemes. Why is it that Duke, a unique character is in all the outposts? Merik is unique and only at one seapost.
Where are Dan, David, Derrik, Donald, Dexter, or Douglas?
Duke's brothers?
@captain-coel Its probably to make it easier to direct new players to the correct NPC for the events. You just say "see Duke in the tavern" and you immediately know who it is because there is only one and he's in every tavern.

Derrick is at the Finest Trading Post I believe, but I doubt he is related to Duke.

Yeah, its been 1.5 years since he's been added, and rare said they were going to make more bilge rats at some point. I guess they decided to give Duke teleportation powers instead sadly@blazedrake100 said in Duke's brothers?:

@captain-coel I believe they kept Duke one of the sole members is that he might have a key part to play in stories to come, and it would make a bigger impact of the only member got affected with whatever might happen.
@jacketedlawyer6 it’s seems more a matter of resources and money than anything else... I brought up the fact that every NPC in the game was unique except the two mysterious strangers (guy and girl) and Duke, and the uniqueness of the NPC really made the game seem more immersive and less like a run of the mill arcade... but how did Rare answer that... deleted the female mysterious stranger from the game so that they only had to animate and voice one mysterious stranger for the tall tell intro. (I started with the lady mysterious stranger at Golden Sands and am happy that I got to go full circle with her and reach Pirate Legend in her midst before they removed her.) May she not be a stranger anymore wherever she now resides. *Tiphat *
