Now that guns have been addressed I have some feedback on the cutlass.
I love the cutlass, always have, even during the double shot dark days I would keep one at my side. I love the mobility, dodging around and lunging at the right time to take down even groups of foes.
But there is one scenario that just doesn't feel right.
When fighting multiple assailants, sometimes you happen to get forced into blocking, and kind of find yourself stuck in place, never getting a moment to make some distance. You remain eternally locked into the block. Then a 3rd person can just go around you and shoot you dead or sword you, and there's no real agency or way to get out of it. It's keep blocking and die or stop blocking and die. Those are my choices.
Now, I'm totally open to advice, perhaps there's a trick to it, that I'm just not perceiving. And 1 vs 1, this issue seems to be less of a problem as releasing the block and just swiping at the cost of some damage seems plausible.
My suggestion however is to add something, I'm not sure the word for it, parry maybe. Basically what I would like is that when someone swipes you when you are blocking, the ability to push back against their sword by timing a button at the moment of the strike. A little knock back for the attacker and a little knock back to you, to create a gap.
This will allow you to regain your composure and continue to dance.
