If you are like me with this black screen of death and you are not able to do anything for the past few hours. If you have tried everything, including a couple of factory reset, stop panicking, it's not just your console, Xbox is having some big issues right now:
Am I the only one dying inside and who started looking at how much would cost a new console? 🤪
By the way, the Xbox status page is currently dead as well!
Yeah, glad to see its not the black brick I thought it had become.... :)
Guess it's going to be movie night for me!
Yeah, i am having the same issues right now and found this info:
Users are turning on their Xbox Ones to find only a black screen; Microsoft says it's working to address it.

I did a reset on my console but that didn't help. Luckily I didn't do the reset that removes all games and apps, that would've taken a while!
I should have looked the internet before panicking, but I guess it's for the best to refresh a bit the whole system!

I'm now at the dashboard but all of the games say they need an update....

Well, thankfully I had all my games on my external drive and it was much faster than I imagined, so... time to play! :D

Ah... phew! Got mine setup the same way... certainly takes a lot of the stress out of it.
Called in sick... was going to sail all day. Darn you MS!been trying to play for 5 hours. SOT kept kicking me out of game due to network issues then finally Xbox screen went black with update popping now and then.
Black screen had me think my Xbox bricked... reset to factory, got logged back in to xbl, now bronze beard.
