So, being a solo player most of the time I know is hard mode and most of the time I do ok minus the playing while tired and getting caught off guard now and then but I have come across something I would really like Rare to take a look at.
When being chased the few times I have been, I almost always get attacked by a pirate ship, meg, or kraken and then the chasing ship starts shooting at me also.
Why cant the ship chasing you get the tables turned on them now and then?
Not a rant but it does make me log out when it happens and makes for a no win for anyone.
I hear ye matey
I honestly wish there were some sort of foreshadowing for these events that a sharp eye in the crows nest could spot. I'm not talking about a large neon sign saying "Here be kraken" just some subtle indications. A darker mass of water, the odd meg fin, souls escaping the depths, fish retreating in mass. I don't know.
What I'm pushing for is moving from a total RNG trap which doesn't care about the context of whats happening above the water towards something that could be used by skillful sailors to aid whats going on.
If the defender spots the kraken they could lead the other ship towards it and anchor turn at the last moment, sending the chasing ship straight into its tentacles. Or if the pursuring ship noticed it, they could attempt to herd their prey towards it.
I believe, particularly in this game, giving more player agency to what happens to your ship is only a benefit, and lets face it most of the time people will continue to run into the kraken and the like out of lack of paying attention.
