Gonna keep it brief but, I bought sea of thieves when it came out and since have uninstalled the game. Curious for the upcoming dlc I tried to reinstall the game. It was not in my library despite being in my purchase history, it was not showing up in the store, it even gave me an error code saying that this game was not available when i clicked a direct link to the Microsoft store from my browser.
I don't know what is happening but I am really disappointed in this games development and how ungodly difficult it is to download a game, you guys are seasoned veterans, how do you butcher something so badly.

I own the game and was logged in, but it didn't immediately show that I owned it. I clicked buy and then it showed that I owned it and asked if I wanted to buy as a gift.
@thamos I did have a similar problem after last reinstall of windows, couple months ago. My installation USB stick was outdated.
Issue was that for some reason, I had an older version of windows store. I contacted microsoft help about this and they noticed that windows build was outdated, but still working otherwise. Can't remember exactly how to update windows builds (not through normal windows update), but I'm sure google will prove useful.
Easy way to identify this is the windows store logo on the task bar. If it's "black & white", it's the older version. If it has red, green, blue, yellow "windows", then it's a correct one.I know this is an issue that is quite rare and shouldnt happen, but just maybe this is some help.. if not, atleast I tried :D
@aliasmask it leads me to the the website for the microsoft store, after I clicked install it showed an error code after opening up the store application.
@thamos first thing to do is make doubly sure you are signed into the store as the correct Microsoft Account (i.e. the one that you purchased Sea of Thieves on)
Try opening the Windows Store app and click on your account picture in the top right corner. click downloads and updates.
If it still shows an error, try typingWSRESETin the search bar on the Windows Taskbar at the bottom and press enter
