Birds over where YOU sunk / Bottom of the Ocean

  • This is probably a no-brainer. When we sink, our ship despawns and the loot floats to the top. But what if no one took your loot and stuff? Well, what I suggest is two things. First, our barrels float to the top and seagulls fly over, to make it obvious to where we or anyone else sunk. Second, is if our loot sinks, it rests on the floor of the ocean, or maybe keep the timer much longer like how barrels are.

  • @cheatingpirate I like this idea but would like to add or tweak it slightly.
Having loot float to the surface is too easy. Not much air (in fact none) gets caught up inside a skull and any "shiny" trinket, treasure chest of gold or skull that requires two hands to carry should not float at all.

I think that all loot and supply barrels should remain on the sunken ship requiring us to dive for them just like any other shipwreck.
They could even have it as time progresses there are fewer birds hanging around until eventually no birds are present when the vessel and everything de-spawns.

  • I kinda like this since I recently lost a lot of loot when the broken tentacles we call the kraken sucked me and my crew off our ship through the mid deck... leaving only one person on board that didn't realise how much damage was being done.

We spawned an island over from where we encountered it but it had disappeared we looked around and couldn't see any of the loot floating anywhere in the area, just gone completely which just made the fact we sunk because of a glitch even worse.

Great idea here! Very nice : D

  • I'm all for the idea of our sunken ships becoming temporary shipwrecks to dive on. Using the decreasing amount of birds as a timer is a good idea. My only suggestion for it really is that the game doesn't spawn you completely on the other side of the map (ie, if you sink near golden sands, you don't spawn in at ancient spire), but a decent distance away. Plus the urgency of the fact that a ship that sinks you could be diving on your ship and recovering your loot as well as the possibility of returning and sinking the ship that sunk you.
