Can Skull Forts activate WHILE you are on them?

    Anyone know? I'm trying to complete the the Skull Fort commendation and need to go AFK for a bit... Thanks in advance

    No. We had 3 ships on a server to test this a while back. It wasn't until one ship left one of the forts it spawned.

    I've got another Skull Fort question.

    If the key is lost to the sea, does the fort loot despawn at any point or does it just linger in there?

    I've often wondered this too. I assume so because I think it would be the same as using the key. The key probably disappears and then the timer for the next fort starts.

    @bearcubbin key is only a part of the skull fort count down I believe. We held a key for a few hours and did an Athena quest then went for the fort loot. Next Skull Fort popped about 30 min later as we were turning in at the Outpost.

    I think the count down begins as soon as the Captain is defeated but the key keeps a 30 min buffer to prevent someone from swooping in with an old key.

    Yeah that makes sense, or else people could potentially be waiting 8+ hours for another fort if there wasn't a 30 min buffer with the key.

    @bearcubbin my crew pulled an oceans 11 on a skull fort one time because we got a server merge while in possession of a key. New server had an active fort with some ships fighting over it. We slid in while they weren't on the island and cleared the loot off and left an emptied fort with the skull cloud still in the sky

    I didn't even know that was possible. I was told before that the key disappears after a merge.

    So what about the next key, and the next key, etc.? Is the server doomed after this?

    @bearcubbin pretty much. I'm pretty sure the key didn't disappear in that case because it was on our boat. Items on the boat seem to be safe from the merge.

    The loot doesn't despawn until it is replaced when the same fort becomes active again.

    I have been with a crew which lost the key before and since we were getting hassled at the next fort, we took the key from it and opened the fort which we lost the key on.

    @Musicmee has anyone reported Shark Fin Camp not awarding "Gunpowder Plot" credits? Asking because if anyone knew it would be you. Happened 3 times tonight, I reported it but curious if that happened to others

    @king-brouille Ahoy matey!

    It's odd because this same bug happens at all forts, it seems to be very random indeed. They are aware of these issues so hopefully, this will be fixed in the future.

    Sorry if you didn't get to earn all the commendations/doubloons for the time being!
