So I just got to say for starters... well done RARE! The megaladon is a masterpiece! Now I'm mostly going to be reviewing Merrick's quest and the Megaladon and also how it compares to the rest of the game.
Now I know I haven't posted in awhile and that's sadly because if I'm being honest, I was a little frustrated with SoT because of the grinding with not much to unlock to reward me. But now with these weekly events, I love SoT probably more then ever!
The event is a great way of bringing people together like other ships. Ill explain in my story. So my crew was sailing for the island of the Meg(won't name so I don't ruin it for anybody) and we saw another galleon was close to it along with a sloop. I saw online how you had to summon the Megaladon and was expecting to do so. What I wasn't expecting was for the Meg to appear out of nowhere swimming at lightning speed for my ship even though we were still a good ways off from the island. I literally yelled at the top of my lungs "MEGALADON!" to warn my crew before it launched itself at my ship sending me flying.
This brings me to my first suggestion. At some point the Meg needs to be like the Kraken in the sense that it can randomly appear at anytime, anywhere, and sometime after the event, was just random occurence.
We yelled for backup from the other ships and they did so. It came down to the Meg sinking the other galleon and sloop and both crews hopped on board our ship to finish it off. That whole Megaladon experience alone made my 60 dollars worth the buy!
As for something more off topic and also funny, before I faced the Meg and was doing my quests, I encountered the Kraken for my second time! Sadly the battle was too easy witch brings me to my next suggestion. The kraken needs a buff as far as how often it attacks the ship, and it needs a power slam attack like in POTC. I'd rather there be little chance of me winning then little chance of me losing.
If I come up with more suggestions I'll add it later.
So to sum it up... Great DLC and got to vanquish two different Sea Monsters in one day! Pretty awesome!
Hungering Deep Review(from what I've seen so far)
@psych0-knightro sagte in Hungering Deep Review(from what I've seen so far):
My one complaint with THD is that there was no quest progress page. Kinda like in any MMO that has your objectives, a journal that keeps track of what NPCs said so you don't have to go back and forth reading things. If this was added, I would love to see more quests of this type.
Your complain is what I really liked, no page where it said: Go there, read that, talk to them whatever...everything on your own to do
