This has happened 4 times in the past 2 days, ALL while on Athena Missions. As I go to dig up the last chest before getting the location of the Athena Chest, as soon as I hit the X spot, myself and whoever is on the island gets disconnected instantly. In a 4 man Galleon the 2 people on the boat are fine but everyone on the island gets kicked. Same happened when I loaded back in with the 2 that didn't get kicked, as soon as I hit the Athena Chest the 2 of us on the island are disconnected and have to rejoin off the 2 on the boat. Anyone else notice this?

The most recent 1.0.7 patch was rolled in and pretty much destroyed the servers. So they turned off various features and are working to correct the issues. As a side effect, for god knows how long, Allmondbeard errors have been on the rise, servers continue to take dumps on themselves like geriatric hamsters eating prunes, and forum posts such as this are more common than fleas on a tom-cat, thank the Chiquita banana gods for their unwillingness to allow players to share, and pray for the best.
The truth is that players are unlucky in who seems to get the most Allmondbeard errors versus who doesn't.
I personally had a decent late night/early morning run with obvious notion that the server was trying to commit seppuku but wasn't able to find a proper blade. Others have, it seems, the inability to remain online for longer than 20 minutes before their gaming platform explodes...
Best advice, keep your progress limited, take it slow (Not that easy on Athena voyages ha!) and be cautious that any minute on the seas may be the last thanks to the hamster wheels getting clogged.
This issue is the primary target for the dev team currently and twitter/reddit/various internet news media are aflame with tracking of this issue as it is the most current hot topic.
