I agree and really hope they are listening and add text chat to Xbox. I've played quite a bit of the game to know that the default sayings aren't cutting it.
Here's my suggestion: when playing SoT on Xbox One, if a chat pad is connected to the Xbox One Controller, you can bring up text chat by press "t" or "enter" and say whatever you please.
This is evident when I accidentally say something, like "Eat Lead" when I didn't mean to say anything, but because I hovered over that command, it ends up saying it anyways. This happens frequently for me. The default sayings are very sensitive in that way. Here's a suggestion: give us the option to use these default sayings by having to press (RS) button when hovering over them, rather than the command being activated by releasing it.
Having full text chat support on Xbox would relieve many players of the issue, while still being able to quickly say the default commands as usual without a keyboard or text pad. It would only help the Xbox platform, and this would be especially true considering PC players can play with Xbox players, yet they have the full text chat support. The reason this doesn't make sense is I have a text chat pad for my Xbox controller - why can't I use it? I would love to honestly, especially when I can speak my mind to fellow crew mates and have more control over what I say. Sometimes it really sucks seeing someone just typing away in chat because they are on PC, and I really wish I could talk to them (without mic) by using the chat. It feels as though I'm missing out on that sort of communication without full text chat support on Xbox One.
