The game is fun but the only upgrades you can get are cosmetic. Yet there's barely anything to choose from! If the only upgrade is cosmetics we should have TONS of cosmetics to choose from, or at least dozens... But there's very few options. Everyone I see looks the same. Every boat I see has the same skins. I love the game play but hate that saving gold leaves me with little options to choose from.

Buy the absolute bare minimum of what you want from what we have to choose from now, and then start hoarding your gold.That way, when they release more content you should have a nice stockpile of gold to buy the new stuff. I know it kinda sucks, cuz you’ll just want to buy buy buy ASAP, but resist the urge!
And I know it’s not the greatest answer but it’s working for me to just try and have fun doing what I’m doing and worrying about the cosmetic stuff later on.
Sorry, I'm not very active on forums and I realize multiple posts on one topic can be very annoying to those who are active here. Thanks for letting me know the update is coming in June. I was not aware. I think I'll follow @LeQwack recommendation. But, it wont really suck too much since there's really nothing to choose from.
@boomtownboss there really isn't any other option. There's not enough cosmetics to spend all of the gold you'll earn between now and June if that really is the best they can manage in terms of adding new cosmetics. It saddens me to say it but I'll be gone long before June if it really takes them that long to address this issue.
