Random players join to Destroy your boat

  • ok iam gonna try to be as polite as possible, even tho iam furious.. i can start by saying that i have playted the game sens yesterday (about 10h played) and i noticed a really stupid and idiotic game mechanic that i cant understand for my life why it is in the game..

i started playing this game with 3 friends, after about 20 min played someone els joined our team, W*F?!?!.. the first thing i tought about was, F**K! he is gonna destroy our ship intencionally!!! he didnt tho because we were abel to kick him.. new players join and we kicked them! sens we just want to play the 3 of us.. we tryed to close the group so noone could join but that didnt work, players still joined our group...

in about 3h played our 3rd friend left so we were only 2 playing together and that is when the problem started! the thing i feard sens the first 1 second that first guy joined our group.

they were 2x premade that joined our group, me and a friend was looting an island and restocking supplies when they started to drive away with the ship and leave us, even when we told them to wait and help us loot the island sens there were a tresuare chest there and alot of other things..
They didnt come back so we had to leave everything and go back to the boat with the help of the murmaid..
Back on the ship we had around 10 tresuare chests so we werent super happy to have this guys joining us sens they clearly didnt want to coopurate and they didnt want to leave eather, the whole story ended with them destroying our ship shooting 1 of our 10 explosive barrels... that happend just because most people dont want to cooupurate and they dont give a s**t about the ship sens they didnt do anything while we had put down ALOT of hours getting all those tresuares..

30 minutes ago this happend again, but this time it was diffrent.. me and i a friend had been playing for 5 hours looting and plundering other ships..
my friend went afk to eat and after about 10min inacticity he got kicked (lazy beard).
after he was kicked he was gone for tops 2min. he got back and the second he was gonna press join group, some guy joined.. i tryed to talk to him but he only sad with an unoying voice, no engluasss no englush.. i tryed to speak spanish with him, russian, german but he didnt answer me... i was trying to ask him if he could leave so my friend that waited to join the group could join. he probebly got sick of me trying everythign i could to communicate with him because he inentionally attacked a explosive barrel that destroyd the ship with everything on it and left.

this is so stupid that i dont find any words!!!!
atleast let us be abel to kick players, let there be a leader ''captain'' in the group..

  • why not choose a small crew you then have an option of just 3 man crew and nobody can join you.

  • If you do a small Gallion crew, you cant have more than 3 people on the ship. Try a small galleon crew next time, or large sloop crew for 2. Look at the shadows when selecting your ships. Shadows = how many players max on your boat.

  • Play in a private server and enjoy your game time...... Without idiots.
    Oh wait you cant.
As it splits the community and ruins economy that doesnt exist.

  • @jixie87 if you are a three man crew you can do a galleon with only 3 people usually people don't look for 3 man crews they just look for 4 man crews

  • @welshvlad I mean, Anarchy is a kind of economy....

  • @jixie87 I actually just created a post about this after having a similar issue on my sloop, hopefully we will see the implementation of a captain.

  • I'd like to say I feel the OP's complaints.

Sometimes my friends and I have been sailing just the 4 of us, one of us logs off, and then some random player joins in that hops on the wheel to sink our ship despite the fact we just finished a Skull Keep.

This is more than extremely frustrating.
I'm sure the OP knows about 3 man Galleons, what he is complaining about is when one of the teammates leave, and someone else joins in because they had no way to lock the party.
That is the problem the OP is upset about.

If you disagree with the ability to lock parties, post below.
If you agree with the ability to lock parties, also post below.
If you want to tell the OP to queue as a 3 man galleon, please stop, you're not helping.

Adding the ability to lock parties from matchmaking should be added as soon as possible, due to the frustration and unnecessary problems random unwanted players that can't be killed can cause.

  • Anyone else stop reading at "furiouz"?

    I'm a pirate.

  • Half you people are trolling the OP, leading me to believe you are people that do this.

This is one of the biggest problems in the game. I experienced it last night during a skull keep attack. We were doing fine, then one of our guys took a gunpowder barrel on deck while the rest of us were fighting, sailed the ship off, and blew it off. then left the game. We couldn't get to the ship to stop him (one of us even shot himself out of a fort cannon but missed), and we couldn't brig him in time, or kick him.

That wasn't the first time somebody did this either. I've experienced it two other times.

There are people who do this for some stupid reason. We need better options to handle them, or maybe even call for a mermaid earlier so we can get to our ship and stop people from stealing.

  • I personally don't have any sympathy for groups who kick/brig a 4th joining player because they only want to play with their selected friends and nobody else.

Being unfriendly and harsh to random players who join your crew and just want to play the game will only encourage them to grief others in revenge and frustration down the line. Your own attitude breeds hate.

But it would make sense for their to be an option to lock/limit a crew in certain circumstances to prevent unnecessary issues for some people.

The reason people lock/brig others at the moment, is usually to prevent trolling from happening.
On occasion the people brigging are trolling themselves.

And pirates don't care about grammar.

FYI, unless they made a change, the AFK timer is 20min if you do an emote like dance, sit, or wave.

  • @jixie87 I find it pretty stupid when you join a gallion of 3 friends and they put you in the brig right out of the gate. Ive literally sat here and collected coins. Brig is a stupid part of this game......

  • @zealousguardian From the sound of this they had joined, and unprompted after playing for a while did this to screw with them. I had a similar thing yesterday someone joined and immediately started taking chests, jumping overboard and getting to a mermaid, to delete them. Or sailing out of bounds, no matter how much I bargained with them. People who do this are more-so toxic, as they only want to ruin your game. The person who joined mine stayed for 2 hours slowly finding all the loot I had hidden away and destroying it, finally managing to destroy the ship too. Other people have had 2 randoms join a crew and immediately vote them to brig and swear at them over comms. We need a fix such as a crew captain who can remove players who are abuse AND lock off automatic matchmaking. This is a real problem, it's ruined my game twice so far completely unprompted.

  • @ultimate-powa exactly!

seems like alot of people dont understand that its different having a full crew and then have a friend leaving then starting up a new game xD

  • This is a real problem and must be addressed. ASAP.

  • @mexicated
first of all, i have dyslexia so i coudlnt care less about you pointing out my grammer.
I already know it s*x and i really dont care! most people tend to understand what iam typing anyway.
    I
would love to see you spell every single word right from my mother language^^
    Iam Swedish, so good luck!

  • Jeux sans intérêt fait pour perdre du temps

  • @jadabak we do that, but that typically happens after someone loses connection...since we can't reserve a spot...sorry!

  • @gholin idd! this is why this is a stupid mechanic.. 80% of the gaming people are eather kids, trolls or bouth..
not saying that kids are stupid! but most of them love the fact that they hide behind a computer screen and dont care about others sens they dont understand that its actaully a other person with feelings and goals of there own behind that character playing the game..

I gues it make them feel big and powerful, when they inteninally ruin a game for other players that have made alot of effort when there is no benefit for themselfs, except the feeling that they just destroyed something for someone with no consequences. poor people ...

  • @mexicated me

  • @jixie87
Doesnt that count for every griefer regardless of its age? Blaming kids seems to be some kind of an internet trend.
When thinking back of people that tried to troll me I only remember of jung adults, some people yelling in arabic or drunken guys

However at the moment you can only try your best to prevent it by either

    • creating a lobby with a maximum of 3 players
    • or putting everyone instantly in the brig and telling him to join another server
    • or sailing more frequently to the outpost to prevent chest stacking

I would not stack up 10 chests at any time because losing them causes immense frustration even if
only caused by some 'usual' pirates plundering your ship.

  • @danablo
I also stopped reading after "bouth"

I didnt say ALL kids and i just sad why MOST of the kids are trolling..

  • @welshvlad there is an option to play as 4 3 on a galeon and 2 1 on a sloop our friend here missed it so your whining comment is irrelevant.

  • I totally understand the problem, it happened to me too.
I always try to set the crew size as we could play, often I play with another friend on a slope, then another friend came online, we are sailing to an outpost, deliver our treasure and started with a 3 man crew, another hour ago my fourth friend came online and the same procedure started over again and now you can guess what happens next... right, the first friend has to go offline.
In my case it isn't possible to play the game without having to stop an recreate a new lobby, why isn't it possible to set the crew to "friends only", I'm not interested in playing with other players, even if I can't get a full crew of friend, first I will ask on my Discord servers if someone wants to play with us together, or I will join another crew.
I still not need a FORCED match making!

    You missed point completely.
But you also seem like an a****t so im not going to get into it.

  • I agree there needs to be a lock.

Over the weekend we were a crew of 4 and then one dropped to go to work and the final spot was filled with a random. He decided while we were sailing that he was going to throw all of our loot out the back of the ship and then when caught him on the last chest he left the server.

We were fine as 3 man crew, the fourth just cost us thousands in gold. It would have been nice if we could have just locked the crew to three.

Side note: it would be nice if Rare put in a report player feature in the game.

  • Happened to me as well, and afterwards the player sent me the videos of him doing it.
I made it a youtube video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVRO0fMA_Rw&t=140s

  • That'd despicable @Philpsey. If people want to kill the game, here is how to do it!

For anyone who has done this, I hope you get permanently banned. I've already had three crewmates do things like this, not on the level you saw, but sailing off with and sinking our ship while we have treasure on it, one during a skull fort raid, leaving us stranded.

Rare needs to answer this problem, way more than any other.

Please don't mistrust everyone though, Philspey, if I were the random, I'd do my best to get loot and be a loyal team mate. It sucks people like this are now going to ruin my experience being a "random".
