Pirate Code Enforcement

  • Under the pirate code, I believe that there should be consequences for killing people at outposts. This would include sinking other people ships, putting pirate bounties on players for an (X) amount of days and physically killing people and stealing their treasure and loot via outpost(s). Pirate Code Needs an Enforcement act.

    Pirate Code Enforcement:

    • Outposts need to be a safe haven
    • This means that if you are engaged on the island or your ship is sunken, The individual who engaged would be given a bounty, if they are apart of a crew, everyone should be effected.
    • If treasure is stolen undetected, no consequences should happen unless caught in the act (Programmers can make this happen easily)
    • I believe that Galleons should be able to hold 8 people instead of 4 people, to make life easier, also to be able to upgrade your ship for full domination. - (If pirates engage you under alliances or outposts, certain weapons, shipments and commodities should be reduced when delivered and also you would have to pay a bounty fee to remove your bounty, the bigger the boutny, the larger the fee).

    • Killing the Kraken should be a Live Event that could become wealthy for players who are crazy enough to kill it. (Large amount of gold to those who would kill the kraken) - Once a Week.

    • Lastly, I believe that Alliances should be able to be forged to create Pirate Fleets to share wealth, plunder and fun.

Just an Idea, Thought it would be cool. Post your comments below and tell me what you guys think. Maybe the developers could pull this off.

(Maybe even in the future we could get larger ships like Frigates and a Man O'War)

  • This care-bear stuff needs to stop. This is a pirate game. With ZERO level progression mind you. So that way all players on an even play field.

Got ganked cause your guard was down? Tough luck bud. Should always assume you're not safe.

If PVP isn't for you, then maybe this game isn't for you either.

  • "Post your comments below and tell me what you guys think."

I think it's a terrible idea. Guys, seriously, stop whining. It's a pirate game, that has PvP in it. Attacking other players is NOT griefing. It's just playing the game!

"Maybe the developers could pull this off."

    They could, but they shouldn't.

  • @iog-jtfde-ghost Yes because 8vs 1 would be even fairer for a solo sloop .... dumb idea

  • Sorry friend, but that isn't what this game is about. Every minute your in danger, every second you need to be on your guard. No place is safer then behind the helm of the ship or within its wooden womb. If your a good sailor, and have a crew as committed to survival as you, you can out pace any ship on the Sea of Thieves.

  • @djiem
Yes it's a pirate game, but if you know your history. Pirates followed a simple code. All disputes were handled via sea. Any who engaged at outposts would be exiled are hunted and killed. All though it's a game. Games are for fun and enjoyment, If you could create more cannons, have abilities to upgrade to leager vessels, have more ships and friends and plunder while doing it. You could experience a lot of fun.

Also if you had outposts that could be safe havens and have bounties for people who engaged others. You could either survive the lests say (6) in game days and collect the bounty for yourselves or get an opportunity to survive the longest, that'd be fun as he**.

So although you may think its's a dumb idea because your not looking at the bigger picture. For the 1st FPS Game in Pirates. This should go the extra mile and make the fun more worth it instead of boring missions and random ship fights.

I'd rather create a Pirate Alliance Clan and Plunder together and have fun. Example: Friends of Friends are currently running 4 Galleons and 3 Schooners Running a Fleet. It's really fun, We found a way to fit people in the same lobby. :) - Plunder is fun this way especially Missions, Killing other players and destroying the Kraken.

  • Well don't cross our path on Xbox One, We've been on since launch yesterday, And This fleet hasn't lost a battle yet. Now think about if you had alliances...

lol, I'm not afraid. Also, your "history" of pirates is fantasy.

  • @IOG-JTFDE-Ghost your recent post has been deleted. Please refer to The Pirate Code before making your next post.

  • I agree with this. There should be some kind of enforcement because it is absolutely unfair to new or sloop players to have to be wary on the outpost docks because people either do not read the pirate code or choose to ignore the code. There were pirate codes even back then among different pirate crews but as far as i see it or can tell the captain of this game is RARE that means their articles are law. Even among thieves and pirates i believe that rules brought honor even to the lowest of people. I would like to see placed in the game is a request system only available when you enter a safe haven so if and when you encounter another pirate crew they can request to board to prove their intentions are true and non-aggressive. I also believe a way the bounty system that could be placed in the game would be something like bounty hunters, if you were to say go against article 3 of the code in game a bounty would be placed on that persons head causing bounty hunters to search for that person but leaving all other people who dont have bounties alone; the higher the bounty the more/harder the bounty hunter becomes. Of course the person being attacked will be out of luck in the moment of action or they could choose to defend themselves but at least this way those you act out against article 3 would find the game to become much harder and maybe even inconvenient at the worst of times. If the player(s) with the bounty on their head manage to fend off or kill a bounty hunter their bounty would only get higher until the bounty was claimed after which would be a grace period of say 2-5 in game days where the person would not be able to take contracts, turn in loot, or even take control of a ship; simulating exile or something of that nature. This kind of system would definitely be only to enforce article 3 but prevents the s**m who play the game from going from outpost to outpost look for people to sink and kill. In no way would this be removing pvp from safe havens, it would just be allowing other pirates to remain at peace or at least feel somewhat safer on outposts if they decided they needed to take a break or do something else at that moment.
