So you have to use your imagination a bit for it but then again we can shoot each other from cannons soooo.
Currently everything is pretty balanced and everything has a counter exept firing people from cannons.
I say this because in the beta i noticed that a 4 or 3 man shio who knew how to aim could always use the cannons to launch a guy at the more nimble sloop and kill them. ..there was no chance for the sloop when guys who clearly had aiming down to a science attacked them.
And even if the attacker misses he just grabs a mermaid and goes again no loss at all.
It got me thinking we need a counter for this and a net gun that you could fire in the air at the pirates comming from above thus neting them and drowning them.
It may be hard to learn to use but it at least gives the solo player a chance against flying pirate spam.
Obviously it can be tweeked and messed with to work fairly and give no advantage.

I could see it working on land with a very slow reload or perhaps only one shot and must be reloaded on the ship so its not to OP.
I just want a way to combat flying pirate spam for guy like me who will play alone. You simply cant stop the spam of guys who know how to aim ( which will be everyone eventually ) . Since missing has zero disadvantages you can just keep respawning and firing yourself at them but a net would slow them and hold them for a short time or drown them which takes time giving the solo player a chance.
I know it doesn't seem like a big deal to stop them but just ftom beta week i can tell that shooting yourself at the solo ship to kill/loot jump off will become the meta.
Please devs think about a net or something.Man I would have loved to see a galleon shoot a man onboard my sloop. If anything, there should be more penalty to death or ship-teleporting (perhaps a longer delay or something). Make it more risky for people who shoot themselves out of cannons or jump overboard to grab onto the ship behind them. I'm not saying people shouldn't do it because that's pretty cool, just make it more risky.

Thats my reasoning for the net, because right now there is no penalty to keep spamming it and it doesn't seem like there is ever gonna be a penalty for death or being adrift at sea so i thought players deserve at least a chance to break the cycle.Additionally, you should be able to damage cannons/masts (and likewise be able to repair them). If you're tired of them shooting people at you, shoot their cannons (not like they're shooting cannonballs at you to stop you).

I’m really liking the idea, but I think it should be a timed release, or “button mash The A button” to free yourself. Because all I pictured there was some poor solo getting netted, then watching someone strole away with their chest and he/she is stuck cause they don’t have anyone to untie them haha 😂
