My Adventure as a Pirate at Disney World! (I got kicked out for looking like a Pirate)

  • Ahoy there, I am

and I have a tale of adventure to tell.

    Arriving at the Resort

Just last week my crew and I sailed to the Most Magical Place on Earth: Disney World. Upon docking my ship at the All Stars Movies Resort I put on my best clothes and headed to the Magic Kingdom. On the way I commandeered a strange land-ship for my fleet.

    Getting Into the Park
Unfortunately for me the Sorcerer Supreme Mickey Mouse casted a spell to prevent pirates from bringing in pirate swords, so I left mine on me ship beforehand.
I put up me hair and took off me eye-patch as I entered the park to hide that I was a Pirate.

Buying a Sword and the Pirate Show
So I purchased a Pirate sword at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride to add to my Pirate appearance. Upon gaining a sword I went over to watch the Pirate Show where Capt'n Jack makes pirates out of some kids. Turns out that since I looked so great as a Pirate, Capt'n Jack wanted to recruit me for his crew and welcomed me onstage. Afterwards we all gave a loud AYE! to Capt'n Jack.

Thus Began My Quest For A Snack

After some good Pirate yelling I began to hunger so I set off to seek food at Gaston's Tavern. As I approached the counter to order my food they told me that whatever I wanted was paid for by Mickey. They said I made their day by my appearance; while it is a surprise that my fame has reached the ears of Mickey, to be sure, but it is a welcome one.
After receiving my food and drink I lounged on what I hear is Gaston's personal chair.

My New Hat and Thrown in the Stocks

I found me a Pirate hat to complement my red and black theme, after I procured it I was thrown in the stocks. I promptly escaped but not without first swearing vengeance on my enemies.

Keeping a Low Profile and Visiting Tinker Bell

So to not draw too much attention to myself I did what any sensible Pirate would do. I got on the Merry-Go-Round that is near the dead center of the park, pulled out my pirate sword, posed, and looked triumphant as I was seen by virtually everyone. (No picture unfortunately)

After the ride I went to visit Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow to s***k her since I'm a pirate. After a battle between my sword and her crayon we parted as friends but not before kissing her hand so she can remember her favorite Pirate.

    Meeting Gaston

Let me sum up that conversation. We went on rants telling each other how great we are.

No Reservations Needed for a Pirate Captain and His Crew

My crew and I didn't have any reservations for the Be Our Guest restaurant but I walked up to the gatekeepers and requested one of their finest tables. They called in and informed their commander that a Pirate Captain wanted to dine here. And like that they escorted my crew and I into Be Our Guest. So if you don't know, to get into the Be Our Guest it takes making a reservation at least 6 months in advance to your trip.

Then we were seated in the West Wing section of the restaurant, the elite seating. (No Picture)

THE BEST PART OF THIS STORY
So I was making my way out of the park after dinner because for the hours of 8pm-11pm the park was rented out to some large cheerleader organization (I think). If you were part of the organization you would receive a lanyard to show you could stay in the after hours.

I did not have a lanyard and one employee told me to go ask the keepers of the lanyards to give me one since I was a Pirate. I pulled out my Pirate sword, put on a fierce face, and power walked towards a group of 5 employed. I swung my sword into the center of the group and declared "I'll be commandeering one of them lanyards, oh and one for me crew member as well!"

    They gave me the lanyards.

I spent the next hours riding rides with no lines! Except that blasted Peter Pan ride.

Lastly, The Peter Pan Ride and Getting Kicked Out

So the Peter Pan ride is notorious for the lines consistently being an hour or longer no matter when you go. Yah, I simply walked up to one of the employees and asked if me being a Pirate could get me into the fastpass lane without having the reservation. They said "Aye! But just this once." My wait time became 2 minutes instead of 60. I love being a Pirate.

Immediately after I got off the ride I was stopped by 3 security guards who informed me that by dressing up as a Pirate I was in violation of their no costumes for adults rules. Apparently they have been trying to track me down all day but I somehow was always one step ahead of them. Must of been my fantastic keeping a low profile skills.

Anyways, while polite they said I must leave the park immediately. I knew this moment was coming all day but the hilarious part is that they kicked me out with only 15 minutes left until the park closes anyways!

I got a full 10 hour day of being a Pirate at the Magic Kingdom. Before I left I got one final picture.

So there be most of the highlights of my Pirate adventure at the Magic Kingdom. I hope you enjoyed my story.

I got a free meal, got to be in the kids only Pirate show, a free pirate bandana, got into Be Our Guest without a reservation, and commandeered two extra magic hours lanyards all because I'm a Pirate! Take what you can, give nothing back!

    👻

  • @implydoods

Nay, I had these clothes before I found out about Sea of Thieves. My life is a pirate's life!

  • @maximillianzeus Great story of your adventure, and very lucky of you to not get caught until the end of the day - they are usually very strict on the "no adult costumes" rule.

  • @knightx13

Oh I know it! I guess since I can quickly walk from one region of the park to the next really quickly; whenever they got word of my location I was already somewhere else.

  • A merry life and a short one. What a great tale! I'm sure you made some of those employee's day by bringing some of their own magic back to them.

  • Arrrggg!

  • @mordimeir

    YARRRR!!

  • @maximillianzeus Wow, that is one great tale, and sounds like you had a blast! Just goes to show you can just about get away with anything as a pirate haha, great costume you had too!

  • Very ARRRmazing story

  • @MaximillianZeus How on earth were you able to keep this up ALL DAY? hahaha
    Truly a pirate.

  • Excellent!!!

    BE. MORE. PIRATE!!!

  • Ahaha that is awesome! I wonder how much of it was awesome pirate heres some stuff vs must be doing something for Disney somewhere leaving people not to bat an eyelid at your antics.

I love that it took all day for security to get ahold of you, thats truly brilliant! Like an actual story, always one step ahead.

  • As someone who lived in Orlando for awhile and had an annual pass to Disney World, I gotta say I was never treated as well as you were! I'm glad you had such a magical time! I gotta go back one of these weekends.

  • That is awesome! Glad you had a great time at the most magical place on Earth, ARRRRRR!

  • @maximillianzeus
What a lyin', cheatin', dirty scoundrel ye be!
Deceivin' th' poor folk at Disney with yer Pirate swagger!!
I love it, hats off t' ye matey!!

  • Thanks for all the great replies, I haven't been able to reply because the thread accidentally got sent into a hidden state where it was not visible. @IOnEI-Falcon and Rare were able to retrieve it for me though.

    @SappyElephante
It was a simple feat as bein' a Pirate be as simple as breathin'.

    @Aprovoked-Mango
Yar, I'll let ye in on a little secret. I used t' work for the mouse so I can assure ye everyone of those employees knew I was breakin' the rules. Th' guests on th' other hand, aye most of them probably could not figure one way or the other.

    @LogansDadToo
    Thank ye yah:
    Mutant, maggot, mewlin', mutt!
Oh an' i'll be takin' that there hat of yers.

    @Psych0-KnIghTrO
Get a non-Disney related outfit together, such as an Industrial Gothic (Steampunk) outfit. Then when you walk through Disney walk with some confidence about who you are. The more natural you look in your skin and the more you show you enjoy being you then people will take special notice of you. No longer would you just be another face in the crowd.

  • @maximillianzeus They may have been thinking you worked there lol great story thanks for spinning the tail for all to see.

  • @maximillianzeus sounds like you had a great adventure at Disney. The only adventure I remember from Magic Kingdom was getting stuck on "It's a small world" for 3 hours and the song played over, and over, and over, and over again. I will never step foot on that ride again. I hope you made it to Epcot, that is my favorite park.

  • @ivorydoll

Indeed I did, I went under a disguise dressed in some form of outfit called Steampunk. After my visit to Epcot I returned to my pirate showboating. Yarharhar!!

  • Please tell me that when the security guards stopped you, you said something like "This will be the day known as the day that you JUST BARLEY caught Captain MaximillianZeus!"

  • @DatPhat

No but i did politely rub it in their face that I was aware of the rules and they still failed to catch a very tall very handsome pirate alllll day.

I was trying not to get put on a ban list.

  • @maximillianzeus The tale of your adventures in the land of Disney be most hilarious says I ☠

  • @maximillianzeus I love this! Disney is really good at delivering magical experiences to all their guests. I used to work at Walt Disney World in Orlando :P

You should look into Disney bounding its dressing up in costume within the Disney parks rules. And you should take it as a compliment that you were asked to leave because it means your costume was so good and convincing that you could have been mistaken for staff or as part of the Disney brand.

  • @zz-emerz-zz

Yes, I absolutely took it as a compliment. I hold no ill feelings toward Disney. I made many people's day at Disney and they gave me plenty of magical days.

As for Disney Bounding I'll definitely take a look, thanks for the suggestion.

Have a nice day, I stumbled over a great post, you so much deserved the attention you got. I hope to meet you in the game one day, either as player, as Rider of the Ferry or carved into one of the many places in the world :D

  • @jcmdeadpool

Aye I remember ye. Yarharhar! I sang many o' Pirate songs to ye.

Have ye seen my thread and ingame lore on my 30 straight hour voyage on the Ferry of the Damned? You can find that here.
