I am so excited for this game and the fact that i can be a pirate! Sea of Thieves will be an amazing game im not worried about that! My Question is why does Ubisoft have to make a pirate game that is historically accurate!! take a page from this game! why cant they have mermaids and undead sailors and crazy stuff! i guess my question why are they so adverse to including fantastical elements in their games?! everything has to be accurate with them! or maybe im wrong and Skull and Bones will have everything i said i wanted ?

@crude-jc-gamer and thats fine! i love the combat but i want to do more than that i want to fight the crew of another ship! in an epic sword and gunfight! and then return to port with me plunder and of course we have this game that will answer this call of course! and i cant wait i just have a problem with skull and bones as they seem to forget we would like to be pirates as well! not just a ship doing all the things in black flag except the assassin part! get drunk at taverns! get into bar fights and hunt the white whale! do all that cool stuff! and still have ship to ship combat! along with a fantastical element with Krakens and mermaids and more crazy stuff. Like this game ok im done ranting
@niqsun ok fair enough lol i forget about that! but i mean like mermaids and dead pirates along with historically accurate stuff i just wish they would add that in instead of all the accurate stuff lol i dont want it to be about the ship D:
@fourbird9177211 I hope they release some more gameplay soon, because it looks fun and the ship designs (especially the frigate/galleon) are soooo good!
@niqsun same here!! im excited but i want the full on pirate experince i want two pirate games! that are awesome! i want something a long the lines of a mix between Sid Mieier's pirates and black flag where i could loot and pillage to my hearts content one moment and then the next woo the governors daughter the next and dance! fight off mutineers and ship boarding parties and then hunt for moby d**k! and if i die be saved by mermaids!
The issue with skull and bones is it's ship locked content you can never leave the helm to explore like you used to in black flag. It has explained several times on their forum (yes I'm on their forum to, hang me) that skull and bones is aimed at being a navel simulator with the main drive being around piracy and forming allegiance with other players effectively to build your pirate fleet.
That said you are correct that ubisoft as a generic makes more "factual" styled games besides the kraken at the end of that trailer. I feel this is likely due to the cosmetic setting of the game in an attempt to recycle content from AC4BF.
The key to remember is that these two games are very different, if you want toung in cheek fun with friends then sea if theaves it is, if you want more broadside to broadside 100 cannons blazing varieties of sea chess then go skull and bones.
On a side note, i can only imagine if rockstar tried their hand at pirates. GTA & RDR, it would seem they're not afraid of pushing boundaries or looking at different time periods. Could imagine you'd probably start spawned in a brothel.
I am going to wait on skull and bones because of For Honor controversy and wait to see what happens and I hate that aspect of their games that it has to be accurate all the time just let loose and go nuts with what players want to sea! a rich vibrant open world with islands to explore but unfortunately Ubisoft hates games that betray history..for some reason so yes i will stick to Sea of Thieves because it has everything i want from a pirate game except Mermaids (note they are merman but i digress) and dancing with Governors Daughters (BOOM sid meier reference) and as for Skull and Bones could you imagine them locking certain sea shanties behind loot boxes? My hope is that they dont but its a possibility. So im glad we get Rare doing a pirate game that will be remembered fondly as Sid Meier's Pirates!
omg if rock star made pirate game that would break the internet and given the interest in pirate games now i bet they are looking at this genre and hopefully considering it since they want to hopefully branch out and try new stuff!

Don't get me wrong, i love my sea of thieves but it is for its tongue in cheek charm. I imagine a rockstar version would go more for the gritty jugular of piracy. W*****s, brothels, blood and gore sword fights, true boarding action from ropes or with axes and a story noone every really gets around to completing because it's all for that sweet open world multiplayer fun.

Ubisoft is coming...
Maybe players who prefer to sink others than explore and share would jump in S&B, and that could be cool, but maybe more players would let SoT sink by itself before the launch of S&B...And maybe, Pirates games would become fashionable like all current copies of battle royale...
So Rare, be aware !!!
