Revamp Pirate Profiles

Problem is that you can make a whole new account for free if you want to do that.

But you dont keep some items now do you? :P

What pirate profiles should be is that you change how your pirate looks

Why though? If it stream snipping, there settings for that.

So you'd have several names that are now no longer available to people who create a new Xbox account... I don't think Xbox would appreciate that.

and you can convert everything besides guilds and captained ships to that profile.

A pirate profile isn't already linked to guilds your primary pirate is a member off, that's why they increased the number of members of a guild, so some people can have another pirate being a member of the same guild.

This helps people join more guilds,

You can join more guilds already with a pirate profile... But why would you want to join more than a few guilds, the guilds you're already a member off might want to remove you as you hardly spend time on those.

protects one's identity from stream snipers,

Just one careless sharing your screen while logging in without having stream names on and it's as useful as, well, changing the name of your pirate.

and is a better alternative than just changing your pirate's appearance.

That's what people wanted, another look of your pirate and the opportunity to start over without losing the look and progress of your original one.
If you could convert cosmetics to your pirate profile you'd be going through earning commendations without getting a reward as you already have it in your inventory.

Not exactly.
Most people wanted to be able to change between chosen appearances, without loosing the old one forever, like it currently works with the potion.
I want another appearance, maybe multiple, but i dont want to completely loose my current one.

So as it stands now, pirate profiles serve a minority.
I and many others would've loved to have multiple different appearances to switch between, but sadly thats just not possible, without having to do every single commendation again, earning gold, doubloons again and without loosing timelimited cosmetics on said profiles.

Pirate Profiles have so much potential, Rare just has to realize that.

TLDR:
People wanted "another look of your pirate", they just dont want "and the opportunity to start over".
Only a small minority wanted that second part.

People already do this, it has been a practice for years. Cosmetics are not the #1 priority for most people

Overwatch, COD, Roblox, Marvel Rivals, and other games can make you have different in-game names. SOT can just make you have a display name as your pirate profile name, it is not nuclear warfare.

I'm on ebay rn i'm purchasing guild memberships for $500.

The problem with guilds is that they are implemented so people can put ships in there with no other incentive behind it. Right now, people can just pay to be in guilds with rare sails, have cheater guilds, or have max distinction guilds and cycle people to get the commendations. If guilds incentivized player progress and activity, it could be a different story.

Then be careful? Streamers are already taking necessary precautions, this would be easier for them.

Then make another account, pirate profiles' biggest issue is that making another account is free.
