Ok, so when GH Vault Voyages initially came out, I had loads of fun with them. Completing 100 of them, stealing them, tucking on crews, helping crews with the puzzle, the whole nine. I truly loved these voyages.
I hadn't done one in years, though (nor have I really seen many people doing them). Today, I decided to revisit them as I thought that with some of the additions and rebalances to the game over the years, that maybe my least favorite parts of the voyage were improved. They were not.
First, why is it that when you pick up the loot in the vault, it does not raise your emissary grade at all? It only raises your emissary grade for the fractional amount that you get when you put it onto your ship. It makes no sense that a top tier variant of the voyage barely gets you to grade 4 Emissary getting every single piece of loot. Make it just like regular loot where you get the first touch credit as well as the on ship credit.
Second, moving all that loot is absolutely painful. I can unload an entire Ashen Garrison in less than half the time it takes to load out one of these vaults solo. I thought that maybe with the order of bone and blade skeleton's help on the island, that maybe I could expedite it. Nope. Just like the regular skeletons, they don't enter the corridor. I even had an ammo crate and was using the harpoon gun and it was still absolutely dreadful. The mechanics exist for a pulley and platform system. Why not apply that to the vaults? Make a platform you can load the loot onto, and then pulleys to move the platform through the corridor.
That's all. Couple little QoL suggestions to make those voyages more attractive to players trying to progress through their faction levels. As it stands, the juice just isn't worth the squeeze compared to so many other ways to level up Gold Hoarders.
