Okay, so it has been acknowledged, BY RARE, that people do not like the FOMO in recent SOT updates. It did cross my mind that they were creating LTMs to then create a pipeline to bring back these events. Nice to see I was right about that. While it makes sense for Rare to now have an avenue and a roster of events to rotate, a problem I recently encountered helped me view this a bit differently. Even though I have been waiting for the Fallen Sea Dog jacket for FOREVER, I was too busy to earn it during fight night over the weekend before the last. Side note: I learned that I can get it again on April 10th, which is something I am super glad about, so don't take this as a post that is only considering the writer's personal problems rather than making a genuine suggestion. Which finally brings me to my actual suggestion:
Blige Rat Weekender - into - Bilge Rat Bash
Give us more time to enjoy these events by making them last a week. I know everyone knows Skull and Bones for its failures, but did they know of its event system? They have a roster of events that last 2 weeks or so, then a new or returning event a few weeks later. I loved how the first fight night was so close to community weekend and how close this current season's community weekend is to 2 fight nights! I already got both curses and just play hourglass to make someone else's day better by trying to get them to laugh at my banter, but it was enough to get me back into the game. The Bilge Rat weekender is a great idea, but to only utilize a single weekend out of a whole month for a slight player boost is not allowing it, "to reach it's full potential." More time to enjoy boosted rewards or returning voyages means the players, who are only there for the boost, stick around for longer. I know SOT events have only been weekends, but would this change really be the worst thing in the world?
