Would love to see a hello kitty collab or a pink ship set. Yes I know that it would stand out, but I think it would be so pretty in this game. I would love more unicorn options or mermaid options. Even bringing mermaids would be so dope, they could help with sirens or something. I know we have the ugly mermaids to get back to your boat but what about the Peter pan mermaids or the little mermaid styled ones. Just a thought.

This would raise several questions regarding lore and legalities. Hello Kitty as far as I know is neither a Pirate nor trapped in the Sea of the Damned somewhere. In both previous collaboration instances, this was the case for both parties. Too many games already go down slippery slopes doing collaborations that are out of genre.

You CAN'T just say that about someone 😤 Fishface has feelings too
@huibuh34 And Viva Pinata is? Halo is? Gears of war? State of Decay? Overwatch? Literally who cares.
@huibuh34 The point is that basically no collab has ever been fitting, so who the hell cares? Let people have cosmetics that makes them enjoy the game more. You don't need to engage with it. If you don't want a pink boat, don't buy the pink boat parts.
@potatosord
Yeah you‘re right. Maybe lets also do a Skibidi Toilet collab, because who the hell cares.?
Don‘t get me wrong, not all collabs were bad. SoT already had good collabs, for example A Pirates Life. A Pirates Life was a good collab because it managed to connect both fandoms, it had a good storyline and it brought new players to the game.
But what does Hello Kitty have to do with pirates and what new player base could it possibly bring to Sea of Thieves?
My point is: Sea of Thieves doesn‘t need anymore collabs that aren’t connected to the storyline of the game.
(By the way Sea of Thieves already has many colorful shipsets. For example the Paradise Garden
Set)@huibuh34 What playerbase did putting the game on Battle.net bring to the game? Pirates life is a tall tale. We are talking specifically about tie in emporium sets without a lore component. Aside from the tie in tall tales, there hasn't really been a single "fitting" tie in and it doesn't matter. Yes, add a skibidi toilet ship set. I don't need to buy it. If people want it, which clearly they do given this post, then let people have silly cosmetics. It's a pirate video game, don't take it so seriously.
@potatosord
I never said that bringing Sea of thieves to Battle.net brought new players to the game. That‘s why the battle.net collab was bad. It never added anything of value to the game.
It will be the same with a potential Hello Kitty collab. It probably wont add anything of value, other than another cosmetic to spend ancient coins on.
Many good games have already died because of too many unfitting collaborations. Just look at Fortnite.
The point is no one wants to get killed by someone who is wearing a Hello Kitty costume. Maybe it‘s funny for the first time, but after some time it will get boring really fast.
