Hello. I would like to propose a new game mode with the tentative name “Premium Safer Seas.” What do I mean by this? Currently, the game has a Safer Seas mode that severely limits resource gathering, lacks emissary flags, captained ships, raid voyages, Fort of Fortune, The Sovereigns and many other features. This makes the mode unplayable for those who want to access all the content available in High Seas, including substantial gold earnings. The Premium Safer Seas mode (tentative name) would allow players to experience everything available in High Seas but in a PVE environment without other players. Not all players want to encounter aggressive PVP players who may also insult them, their loved ones, or even their children, which is unacceptable. Some mature, financially stable individuals who have families play with their partners or children and want to enjoy the game calmly, spending quality time with their loved ones without the fear and anxiety of losing everything to aggressive players who chase and sink them. Additionally, busy people with jobs have limited gaming time and don’t want to waste their resource-gathering efforts due to being sunk by aggressive players who have more free time and live for PVP. Premium Safer Seas (tentative name) should be a paid mode with a monthly subscription fee. The cost for this experience should be significant, providing a good revenue stream for developers without negatively impacting the player base in High Seas, as the new mode would require a paid subscription. This mode would also attract new players who only play single-player games and avoid PVP games—there are many such players on Xbox, PS, and PC. Games are generally divided into two main categories: single-player and multiplayer. So why not, as developers, appeal to those players who prefer single-player experiences without feeling restricted by the current Safer Seas limitations or harassed by aggressive players in High Seas?
New Safe Sea Premium game mode
@sattory I would think a mature financially stable family person would be capable of finding a game that suits their desired playstyle rather than asking that the fundamental game design (chosen by the developers) be changed to meet their needs.
Hiding your language behind eloquence does not mask the common narrative that people who enjoy pvp must have no life. Nice try though
It baffles me that people will pay money to play a completely different game. Just pay for an account with everything unlocked then move on if you dont want to actually earn it in the intended fashion.Ps if anyone is abusive in game, report it. Devs will act on that behaviour with evidence, pvp enthusiasm does not always equate toxicity.
They will never give you these features because the point of safer seas is to be an extended tutorial. It's not supposed to be a viable game mode, you are supposed to use it to learn how the game works until you have enough gold to buy a captained ship and play the game for real. If you're a responsible adult who only has a limited amount of time to game, then you need to factor in loot turn in as part of your gameplay time. No extra risk, no extra reward. No emissary, no PL, no sovs, because why would you get access to those features in the tutorial? I understand that PvP is hard, but you know what you can do? You can do what I did and take a little bit of time every play session and spend it on hourglass. Before I started hourglass I sucked at the game. I did not hit cannons. I would run instead of fight. Then I built my confidence slowly over time playing hourglass until I had both curses and now I'm 1/3 of the way to gold bones. I'm not someone who likes PvP games, the last competitive game I played was CSGO. Not CS2. CSGO.
Well, since you're so eager to pay for a sub, you'll have a chance to experience the entire content, with no players, in Custom Seas just as you asked - but you won't get any rewards there.
And if you want some of the rewards, keep playing in SS, but say goodbye to the unlocked access for everything cuz you're never gonna get it. Rightfully.
No risk, no reward - that's the premise of this game. If you can't grasp that, you've purchased the wrong game, and it's time for you to move on.
No amount of guilt-tripping or gaslighting is gonna make this fact change.

You won’t be able to experience everything without players tho.
No thrill. No dangers. No threats. Just…empty seas with easy to sink bots.
The full experience is the games core. PvPvE experience, you are limiting yourself with that. Why do these post always contain some cope about “jobs and family”? I have a career, 4 dogs, a family, and a social life, not to mention my parents living nearby who I visit every weekend. Why do I feel it necessary to point that out? Because these “I can’t PvP because of coping reason” always include some dig at players who participate in an integral part of the PvPvE game.
It’s always the same story of how the PvPers are going to “use all the slurs and insult my children and clearly they don’t have lives or jobs because how could they possibly sink me in a simple pirate game otherwise?”
Meanwhile, I’m being told to off myself by entitled pirates who think they shouldn’t be attacked at the highest level events in the game with big clouds advertising”.
Cringe.
@capt-greldik the most abuse I get is from the pve people who decide fighting without their consent is toxic behaviour. People who spawn camp usually just rodl so I mute chat
Having been curb stomped by a galleon more than once for fishing as a solo or just playing voyages. I keep away from the high profile events and try to turn in often, as I play solo a lot. This was a learned activity. Once I heard some one say.. "..explective... solo let him be or hes new, or Hi." Most of the time its me running down a hill to get to the ship before the Galleon of folks make some tooth picks. And, yes the language is far from what I was expecting for the most part, I mean what does my dead mom have to do with ones ability to sword fight? Safer Seas is a nice area that can and should serve a purpose, but only solos/sloops over there maybe.
I have often thought a option box on the way in where you can pick... do you wish to PVP, or do you wish to high level/contested pve(maybe show what it means to high level pve. for me its the Fotd/wherever the fortune chest is involved. ) The rest of us just wanna fish, chase skellies run a tall tale or work on commendations. If we want PVP we will hourglass it (which is how I thought it worked to begin with. Imagine my surprise when I am getting blown up trying to run my loot in). But no we are all in there together and things get testy at times.@obadiah-orr Your post has been removed as it goes against the Forum Rules and Pirate Code.
ALWAYS:
Be courteous. Don’t insult players you don’t know. If humour is the intent, remember that this can be lost or misinterpreted online, and words can very easily offend. Be mindful of what you’re saying and if someone asks a question, see if you can help them out as you’d appreciate being helped out yourself if the roles were reversed.
Name calling, personal attacks and using derogatory language against Community Members, Rare Employees, Global Moderators or Deckhands is not acceptable. Using such language will result in a warning, then temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action is persistent or increasingly aggressive, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.
Please read and abide by the Forum Rules and Pirate Code in future.
Thank you.
As a general note to all:
Please avoid engaging in personal arguments and derailing the topic of the thread. It is fine to debate the content of the post, and the viewpoints therein, but disrespecting any of your fellow pirates personally is against the pirate code, and our forum rules.
@obadiah-orr Hourglass is not the only place to PvP in this PvEvP game. Did you ever watch a single trailer for this game? They talk at length about how EVERYTHING is designed with PvP in mind. "When you take over the burning blade, you BECOME the world event". Yes, hourglass is a tool to find PvP, but all it does is give you PvP on demand. Hourglass is just the "I want to fight right now" button. At no point on high seas is the game ever not PvP
